Crashed and BurnedI was really anticipating on receiving my first order. After following the directions carefully, I was deeply disappointed the hair color did not turn out the way I desired it to be. And to thin, I had such high hopes too! The timer did not work either. Not as expectedComplicated and messy process compared to box dyes. The " roots" mixture when finishing at the end was so strong smelling.. It nearly made me pass out and there was no way i could leave it on my hair or continue to massage for 2-3 minutes because the fumes were so strong that it made it difficult to breathe. And couldn't find anywhere staying to be prepared for that it would've opened a window. Plus, didn't cover greys very well. Packaging doesn't say how long coloring should last either. Order not as requested.I'm a mother so coloring my hair and even having the time to is a treat. I colored my hair today and it's not what I requested. My gray roots are still visible. Not satisfied with Custom colourI bought ammonia free custom colour. I believe bleach is used in making custom colour. When I colour it damage and burn my hair. Awful.Color did not come out right at all. Contacted a salon and they adjusted color but it did not cover over the mistake of the first one. Made my roots look ridiculous. Didn't cover my graysThis is the second time I try this product. The first time, I followed the directions and my hair didn't pick up the color with one use so I did it twice since I had product left over and then my hair took up the dye. The same thing happened this second time around, none of my grays picked up the color so I have uneven color throughout. Most recent color turning pinkAagghh!!! My color is going from a dark red to pink, not at all what I wanted or expected. I requested a change in my color to more closely get my color to ginger biscuit red which should be more of a copper, less dark red, and will hopefully prevent this turning pink issue. I find it disturbing, especially since it has only been in my hair for less than 3 weeks. Not the color shownThis color was nothing like what was shown. I was supposed to be strawberry blond. It had basically no red in it at all and made my hair darker than it was and looks like a gross light brown. So disappointed as now that it is dyed I can't lighten even back to my normal color. Extremely disappointedI want RED not brown with barely a touch of Auburn. I was VERY dissatisfied with my order and my results. I even included a message to the colorist saying that I want MORE red and copper tones and instead; I got less. AND, the kicker is that EVERY TIME I have used your color, I get a different color--sometimes light auburn, sometimes really red and sometimes, like this last time a mousy brown with hardly any red at all. BLAH! Sure, you can try to send me a new kit for free. Do you want the old one back? I'm sure not going to use it again. But I'm also not paying shipping and handling to send it back to you. My husband does my hair and he follows the directions very carefully, so I just don't get it. I guess you think the mousy brown with just a hint of auburn is closest to my natural color and it is, but if I wanted my normal color, I would't be dying it, would I? If you can send me a kit that has a lot more of the copper red in it, then I will be happy to try it. Not perfectThe colour looks just like I wanted but the bottle is so small I have to buy the ends refresher everytime, the conditioner sachet is not enough either so left my hair very dry tangled and hard to brush. Customer since 2011I have to agree with the other people finding the hair color is not working like it used to. I had always followed the directions and was happy with the results until about six months ago when I noticed that my hair was still a little grey afterward. I had a hairdresser suggest Nutrisse. Broken, dry hairI'm really upset with the damage this product has caused my hair. I have only used professional dye in my hair prior to this and have never had an issue like this, ever! I have broken hairs on both sides of my face, which normally are longer than my chin. About a day after dying my hair with this product, I noticed my long bangs were shorter, standing up and looked as if they had broken off. This is absolutely mortifying! I'm not comfortable using this product moving forward and will be canceling my subscription. It will take months to grow my hair back, not to mention deep conditioning the broken damage. Not the color I ordered (Update)I can still see my grey and its brown which it should be black once again think it's time to move on to another company. Worked many years ago which tells you how long I've been with this company but now I'm done. So, I received my new color and applied it last night followed the instructions to the tee and well I still see my grey and red streaks you really must have changed the product because I have been with you since 2014 and its definitely not the same, I wanted Black, and I got a dark brownish red. Didn't last very longI didn't like it because after just 2 weeks my roots were already showing! I don't wash my hair very often, I used the tint wash and just still wasn't happy so I didn't want to spend anymore money on dye that does not last. Doesn’t stick…Doesn’t stick, apply, or dye the hairline around my face. Dyes the rest of my hair except the face framing hair therefore causing me to want to purchase more or throw on my hat. Also, the color looks too clown red now that the formula changed. I’m afraid to stop using because I’ve got a good 24 inches of this weird color on my head already and don’t to tiger stripe my head by using a different product that won’t match. I like the ease and convenience of ordering and receiving on a schedule. And knowing that it should be the same color already on your head. Terrible coverage & way more red than I wantedI was very specific that I wanted to mimic my natural hair color. I included a pic and specified what was natural and what was dyed. Unfortunately what I got was closer to the dyed color. And then the dye did not fully cover my grey hairs. Uneven results and color not as expectedI really wanted to like this color. I had previously received a color that pulled a little too red for me so my color was adjusted and more violet was added instead of red. I was excited to try this color as I love the feeling of my hair and the shine after coloring I just wasn’t happy with the actual color. This time it came out even worse! My roots area was still much too reddish orange and now the length of my hair is very very dark, almost black. I followed the directions exactly as stated and feel so unhappy I wish I could completely undo all of the color I have on my hair. A bit too darkI had colored the "gray roots" as instructed. Then pulled color thru to the roots. Used gloss first. Came out VERY DARK BROWN. then as the days went by the color on the top is a few shades LIGHTER. I am about to highlight it to salvage the darkness to light.Not real happy. OMGOSH 10 years and no moreI have been using exclusively for 10 years and loved, loved loved my color. I thought I was losing my mind until JUST NOW. I am stopping my membership immediately. Color not lasting as long.I’ve been a happy customer since 2017, but over the last 3 applications, I’ve noticed that my grey is showing a lot sooner, like within 2-3 weeks. Where’s the colour gone?Thought something was up with my hair but relieved to see others here are also finding that the colour fades super fast….within two washes I’ve lost that rich, copper vibrancy and am back to having a faded colour. Really disappointing, have no idea why this is happening as the colourstay was actually one of the things I really liked about this product. At this rate I will have to go back to an actual Salon. Grey coverageThe first time I ordered I was very satisfied, just needed a tweak for better coverage with grey. This time I was told to leave on longer. Coverage was less. Colour never rightI ordered a copper colour for my hair initially to be able to get that salon colour at home when lockdown meant appointments were scare. After being disappointed with the result the first time I was offered a free box. When it arrived I was very pleased thinking this was great service despite the inconvenience of having the wrong colour. After putting on the second box I was so annoyed that yet again the colour was more a vibrant red and definitely not what I ordered. What happened01.31.2022 6:17 pm EST Update: spoke to hair colorist today!, they are tweaking my formula to meet my grey issue. Thank you for the quick customer service response. I’ll let you know how the NEW mix goes!! So I am upping my review from 2 star to 3 star. 01.31.2022- I thought I did something wrong! However, after reading the reviews, I can see others have also been having the same issue. I have been a customer since 2017. I am on auto mail for my color every 4 weeks. I have stubborn white grey hair. Which my colorist is aware of. The last two times I have done my hair my Grey has not taken the color. I was so disappointed. So I had a “back up” kit (since being at home for a year due to Covid I did not stick to a strick 4 week schedule and might go an extra few days. This allowed me to have an “extra” kit as I continue to stay on a 4 week auto mailing. After 2 weeks, I decided to color my hair again. I have all the equipment, watched all the videos, (btw- I have been coloring my hair over 40 years) and still the grey around my temples and ear did not take. I know not to use the stain guard (never have) and I apply to stubborn areas first so it has a longer time to take. If this continues I don’t know what to do. I have noticed a change in the formula, and frankly it is not as good. Please please do something about this. Not the correct color please go back to my old colorThe past two times the color is now too dark brown/red. It no longer is soft black, so I now have about two inches of dark brown/redish band of color since it doesn't match the soft black that it used to be. I think there is a new colorist. I would like my old colorist or a seasoned colorist. Please send soft black for me BUT NOT TOO BLACK and NOT DARK BROWN/RED. The color changed when I tried the toner, but I thought that the toner was for the roots inbetween coloring, but it says to use only on the ends not on the roots. Therefore, I do not want any toner. I received a toner this time even though I deleted it. I hope that I wasn't charged for it because I don't use it. I have been with you all for a long time. Going back to the Salon!The first few orders were great then I updated my color and it turned out WAY too red. I sent a notice for them to update it to the previous colored and that fell through the cracks, I guess. I got that same color...again. It turned out just as bad. I had a replacement sent and I waited because I was a bit nervous to have it turn out badly again. Well...life intervened and I just got around to doing it. Apparently, only the website says it expires after six months, and because of this and the previous refund for your mistake, I was told nothing could be done and now I am going to have to find another solution because I have canceled my account. Colour not lastingI started using eSalon in April 2018, originally the colour lasted, but now it doesn't even last two weeks! They've adjusted it more than once, to make it cover the grey and last longer, but it hasn't worked. Formula no longer covering gray rootsI have also been a long-time customer who loved my hair color and the ease of automatic shipments. However, something has changed. The color is still beautiful, but the product is no longer covering my gray roots. I asked for my color to be adjusted to cover my roots more effectively, but the adjustment did nothing to solve the problem. I have just asked for a second adjustment to the formula.
