I loved the copper color but after about 3 washes it faded really fast and its not very copper anymore its more red brown now. I wish the colors lasted longer.

Grey shows back up too quickly. And I don't have that much. Color was good, maybe a bit more brown. But after 2 weeks, usually I can go 4-6 weeks between coloring. I may start having it done by someone.

I was so pleased with my color. I opted for a light to med rich chocolate brown and my colorist absolutely nailed it! Unfortunately for me the color faded extremely fast.

and wasting time in chair, this custom color set is a tremendous value. I've used this product three times and has proven to provide great natural results. I've got gray and the product hides it pretty well, however, gray is a challenge and we will never find a product that covers 100% because hair JUST KEEPS on GROWING!

My issue is with the shipping. It took 9 days to get to me and I had a wedding on the 10th day - so I spent 2 hours of the day before the wedding which was at my home, coloring my hair. I don't understand why it took so long. It was shipped on 18 Jul and arrived 27 Jul. Geez... I almost went to buy color product at Walgreens...

I would recommend eSalon to anyone that colors their hair. The only reason it is a 4 star is because the texture feels "stiff" for a few days after when shampooing.

This was BETTER coverage than what I get at my salon. I can’t even explain why. I pay $80-100 to color my thick long hair just for a few grays. I can’t think of a reason to do that again.
Even though I sent my photo requesting a consultation, I just got the color I chose. Which is ok. It was a bit red, I’ll probably do something a little different next time.

I have been coloring my hair red for years. After my gray started coming in, the color I was using didn't color the grays well. They faded after 2 washes. After switching to another brand, the gray was covered, but I needed a level 5 red, which is very difficult to find. When I would use the color in the brand that best suited my gray, it was either too light or too dark. E Salon made my custom color and I love it. It covers my gray, the color is perfect and it is a red that doesn't fade quickly, lasting until it is time to color my roots. Even my stylist likes my color and compliments me on it!!

I really like my color, and the color specialists are GREAT to work with, but the last step of mixing the water in with the color and then rubbing it in for a couple minutes it really MESSY. I do it under my bath faucet, is there a better way to do that last step?

The color is great and it's easy to apply. But you need to include THREE pairs of gloves. I use one pair for the first application that I have to wait 15 minutes for. Then I use the 2nd pair for the 2nd application that I have to wait 10 minutes for. Then I'm out of gloves and have no more to use when I go in to the shower to apply the leftover color to my hair. It's ridiculous to think that somebody is going to sit around for 15 minutes and do nothing but wait with gloves on so they can proceed. I mean as much as we pay surely a third pair of gloves is not going to break your 30 million dollar company.

Not sure what was changed, but when the packaging changed, appears the formulation changed too. It is too watery now and drips down my head. Also, think the new packaging is bland and boring. The old Heart Lock It and Love UnConditionally - made it kind of fun.

I love my color. And when it fades it looks natural. Even my gray tends to blend in and look sexy as opposed to washed out.
The one caveat is that it dries out the ends of my hair.

I love the product and have been very satisfied with the color. However, recently I’ve been receiving shipments that are always missing something. Although they’re small items, it’s still so disappointing to open the box up and not have everything I need. Once it was the stain guard, then the wipe and the last time it was missing the conditioner (instead there were 2 shampoos).

Giving the color 4 stars. I'm finally getting close to the color I wanted, but the color they send for the ends of your hair doesn't seem to cover as well. I just want my hair to be the same vibrant color all over. Overall, definitely not bad for custom color and price.

The short review: The color was perfect, the instructions and videos made the process so easy, and customer service was great from beginning to end.
The long review: I have colored my hair at home for half my life (I'm 55) and have used the same drugstore brand for almost all that time. Over the past few years, I've been switching all my beauty and personal care products to cruelty-free. Hair color was my last, and hardest, switch. I researched for the last couple of years, and nothing ever sounded good enough to make me confident in trying it. Then I ran across eSalon. I'm so glad I did! I filled out my profile, placed my order, and received an email a couple of hours later (how is that for personalized customer service?!) asking some questions for clarification. I said that I wanted to match the color I was currently using as closely as possible, and gave the details of that brand and color along with a picture. When the kit came, everything I needed was right there in the box. I had also ordered the color tools and cape, so I was all set. I did have some trouble with application and made a total mess, but that was my own fault. I have very short hair, and the videos give recommendations to use the bottle for application and not to bother with the clips if hair is too short, but I wanted to try using the brush and clips since I bought them. All I did was make the process more complicated and way messier, so next time I will just use the bottle. At least I'll still get use out of the timer! Other than that, I didn't have any problems with application. And the results were perfect! My color is very close to what I had, only better! My husband loves the color on me, and so do I. My hair is soft, super shiny, and the color is scrumptious. Thank you eSalon. Please don't ever change, because you've got the perfect product and customer experience!

I love this color, especially the first couple of weeks, the color really stands out. My hair is healthy from Esalon products, unlike other hair color products which make one
s hair feel dry, processed and like doll hair. It does last a bit longer than other products, 6 weeks versus two weeks to a month. I guess the one thing that I don't like which I don't think reflects the company completely, is that the stain guard and color remover takes some of the color from my hair. The last time I colored my hair the stain guard although a couple of inches or so away from my hair, took color from the sides of hairline when it was time to rinse. Although, I don't want to walk around with color on my face and neck, etc. it might be better to do that than lose color within a week. I also would love for the color to last at my root line more than a few weeks.

Color matched very nicely. However, color did not last, maybe less than three weeks before the greys started fading back. I wash my hair twice a week. I received a replacement hair color kit with modified instructions. I tried it about 6 weeks ago and the color is staying intact so I edited my review here. I still love the color. Thanks for making it right!

This has to be the best colour kit I have ever used, it does exactly what it claims and looks absolutely natural. The only downside is it smells quite potent when being applied, but once done that disappears.

My hair always has brassy undertones when dyed in salon or out of a box. ESalon though has created a color that has zero brassiness and that colors my grays permanently- 8 weeks later and the only gray I have is new growth.

This haircolor seems to last longer than any I’ve used. It does not have a strong smell. My only complaint is it colors my scalp for several days. I have to scrub it off in the front because I wear my hair back away from my face.

I want to start by saying, I love your product. It's customized, changeable, convenient and easy to use. My only concern is the packaging. I try very hard to recycle as much as possible. I was sad to see that you felt your instructions needed a plastic folder and the two color bottles are nestled in a plastic form that is not recyclable.

The root lift is a little too stiff. I didn’t realize it was a hairspray. So between using that and additional all over hairspray (I never use a lot of hairspray, I like a soft hold) if I needed to restyle it was somewhat difficult to comb or pic through my hair. I do admit it did lift where I needed it.

Love the color this time, but it really made my hair feel like straw, even after the conditioner was used, and I haven't colored in awhile or used any products in between, so kind of harsh this time it seems.

I received my color package and was so disappointed when I opened the kit to begin coloring and found that the developer had somehow leaked and had gotten on all the packaged items in my kit...it had been extremely hot during the time of the delivery and that seemed to have caused the leakage to occur. I called customer service and explained the situation (& had taken photos of the developer etc. uncertain as to what was needed to replace the items).
I was so happy with the customer service and their promptness in replacing the kit, I emailed them immediately to thank them. The esalon team had a new replacement kit arrive in two days, which was extremely prompt, they followed up by phone to ensure the kit had arrived without any problems and they adjusted my next scheduled color to arrive based on the replacement they provided and didn’t require that I send the damaged product back, which is rare. Great customer service, Thank you!!

My colorist, Hannah D, gave me the color I didn’t even know I wanted! Last time, I was very disappointed with the brassy color. Hannah toned down the brass and upped the sass! It is a little darker than I wanted, but again, LOVE IT!💕

My colur is lasting brilliantly and the pamphlet inside is super easy to understand and follow. But on my first application attempt man did I make a mess hoping my second attempt wont involve me having to scrub the bathroom floor.

I really loved this color, but so far none of my eSalon colors have stayed shiny and vibrant for long. I have dyed my hair for years, and use good quality color safe shampoo and conditioner. I wish the color stayed more prismatic for longer.

Anti-Frizz Hair Serum was really thick and made my hair horribly greasy. I have however tried hard to use just small amounts and it is better. I can't use it every wash, but I am doing better with it. I will not order it again.

My last color seems to be lasting a little longer than the one before. Instructions were to leave it on longer. However, my hair seems dry - at least more than it had been. I have to be careful not to wash too much or use too many hair products and especially heat styling.

You know that saying "three times a charm"? After a couple of adjustments they nailed it on the 3rd try. This color is so close to my original color and hides all those "wisdom highlights". I'm a natural blonde and the brash red highlights I'd get with a store bought product was awful. I even quit coloring my hair for a bit to see what the gray looked like. Not good! I can't afford to go to a salon every month so I decided to give eSalon a try. I'm so happy I did. Giving them a chance to make necessary adjustments was a wise decision. The home delivery is a plus too. I never have to step out with gray roots!

The product was super user friendly and the kit came with plenty of product for my hair. I have no complaints, the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is the color is starting to fade just a little at the roots and it’s only been a few weeks and I don’t wash my hair often. Other than that, my hair feels great. It’s nothing like box dyes.

I got my first color yesterday and did it last night the color was darker then I thought it would be but very pretty. I was sent two bottle of color and toner I had to use both. Bottles on my hair cause it was so thick and long. So I guess if I’m wanting to do my whole hair I have to have two bottle if I’m just doing the root one should be enought

I love the fact that it doesn't drip and that it's very easy to apply. However, it, I find that the color doesn't seem to cover the gray very well, and it fades. Leaving my hair looking ashy when the gray starts peeking through. My hair is down to my waist, so it looks like it washes out and fades.

When choosing the colour I wanted from the pallet, I had my reservations. This was down to the colour my monitor was displaying and sometimes the real life version in front of the eyes can be quite different. But this colour was exactly as I imagined. The instructions were extremely user friendly and the top expert tips really help set the colour off great! The one drawback for me I found was my hair took a good few days to get back to its glossy look as the dye seemed a bit harsh to the hair. Overall it is a great product and I shall continue to enjoy trying different shades.

My first order in July of 2017....It was ok had to adjust the color because it was not quite what I wanted but after a couple different adjustments now the base color is great.

Usually I am very satisfied but this month one of the bottles leaked and I had red/ brown color all over the other products and I was worried that it would change the way the color worked.

I love my color. I've been using esalon for several months now, and I've been thrilled with my hair results each month. My reason for four stars instead of five is the shipping price...in my opinion, you might be able to retain loyal customers better if free shipping was offered for customers who have a subscription for their color. Even with the few dollars off, the price is just a little steep for me. I'll continue to purchase for now, but I'm not sure I'll continue long-term if the shipping charges remain each month.

Each time I use it, I feel a film on my hair. While I have figured out a solution, it's still discouraging. Will continue to order. But still trying to get a little more brown, and a littles less black.
