I did the box-color thing for years. Just about the time I found a color that worked for me, it would be discontinued. Even if I bought the same color and same brand, there were times when the color looked lighter/darker/more red/blonder/ than the last box. As far as longevity, it was anyone's guess how long the color lasted.
The first coloring made me an eSalon believer. I'm a nobody, but my hair has a color formula specifically for me. How cool is that! There are NO surprises- EVER. I can have as many formulas as I want. I have one formula for fall/winter, and a different formula for Spring/Summer. I set up a Pay-Pal account ONLY for eSalon and it comes right to my mailbox. Everything is automatic unless I change it. I tell everyone about eSalon & how great their products are.

I love the color that we have gotten it to be, the "softness" and "natural-ness" of the way my hair looks from day-to-day. I think the esalon color looks much more "real" and natural compared to all the do-it-yourself hair color kits on the market. I plan to stay with this as long as the price stays the same as I live on a very fixed income.

I'm so happy I found out about Esalon. They are by far the best colorists ever! No salon has been able to match my natural hair color the way Esalon has. I can't say enough about how truly amazing Esalon is. The color is identical to my own color. The packages is elegant and professional to say the least. I think back at the few times I've gotten highlights and after they had grown out the salon makes you have a double/triple process trying to achieve my hairs natural color and it always looked like it was colored we'll never with Esalon. My hair is something I have taken great care of and the few times I've been to a salon it looks unnatural. Esalon allows me to keep my exact natural color and provides me with an identical shade that keeps my natural highlights too. It's great to for me because I can change how often I need to add color just to get rid of those pesky grays and when the sun lightens my hair. I've used the semi-permanent but I've decided to give the permament a try (due to those annoying grays!). I'm extremely impressed and will remain a loyal client! Great job Esalon!!

Since my first order, I have adjusted each color just a bit. When I applied my last order, I was happy when people commented on how well the color looked and as if there were highlights also added. When I told them the color was from eSalon and I applied it at home, they were just amazed. I can't believe how easy you make it. Everything is in the kit you will need to color your hair, just mix the color with the developer together in the bottle provided, no measuring, put on the gloves provided and you are ready to color your hair. I am very happy with eSalon hair color and will continue using it.

I have been coloring my own hair for many MANY years - generally using store bought boxed hair colors. When I saw eSalon advertised on Pinterest I thought I would give it a try - liked the idea of having the box come in the mail rather than me having to remember to pick it up. What impressed me the most was that when I was filling out the questionnaire I just "described" my hair color from when I was a very young child to the color I like it to be now. I did not send in a picture or a swatch of hair. I figured whatever they came up with would be close as long as it fit in the auburn category and we could tweak it from there. Basically I just told them my hair was strawberry blonde as a high schooler and when I was in my 20's I started putting more red in my hair and now that I'm in my 50's I like it to be a light but warm auburn. When my first package came I was a little nervous about what the hair color would turn out to be but I am not a person that freaks at a too short hair cut or a color that is just a little off so not being as picky as a lot of other women are I was still willing to give it a shot. The day I colored my hair I was very pleased with the results - still kind of shocked that they could get it right on with so little information to go on. I saw my sister later that same evening and her exact words were: "I love your hair - I swear that's the best color I have ever seen your hair." So folks - I'm very impressed with the formula they came up with - it's exactly what I would have wanted and I've never had them change a thing about it. Was perfect from the first try - I don't know how they did it. The color covers more of my gray hairs then the over the counter color did even tho the brand I used was supposed to be extra great on gray hair. My hair feels great - does not feel dried out or frizzy and I can depend on my hair color being just right every time. I love everything about eSalon - I'm a big fan!

Color looks very natural. Easy to follow instructions although a lot of shampoo is required to wash out all the dye.

I have had grey hair since my early twenties and started coloring it. I have gone to salons in the past when my hair was too long for me to color adequately. I cannot believe how many people ask me where I get my hair done (colored) once I switched to eSalon. I love the color. It looks very natural and does an excellent job covering all my grey ( I am 80% grey). I am in my late 50's now and I can honestly say this is the best hair color I have ever used. The kit includes everything you need to do a professional color at home.

I'm 52 yrs old and stopped coloring my hair 7-8 yrs ago. I recently decided I wanted to add a little color just to liven up my hair. It's naturally a dark blonde that both a mix of ash and golden tones. I tried the dark blonde, natural golden. It took me several days to get the nerve to go ahead a apply the color. I was stunned when I dried it out.... absolutely perfect!. I did not want to really change my color, again, just get rid of the ash tone. I love it!!! So glad I did it. My skin tone even looks better. Thanks eSalon!

I love this product. It leaves my hair softer and shinier than drugstore type coloring products and is exactly the color I want. It covers all my greys, too! I love that it comes to me on my schedule and I don't have to wonder if the drugstore will be out of my color when I need it.

eSalon just makes the whole process easy. My haircuts became more costly so I decided to start doing color myself. My husband becomes "Serge" every 6 weeks and applies the color for me. Once that is done, I get into the shower to complete the process instructions provided by eSalon and I have perfect hair color for another 6 weeks. My expert Master Cutter always comments on how great my color is. Thank you eSalon!

Who has the time to sit in the stylist chair every four weeks to color? Not me! But no one wants flat or harsh or bad hair color. Fortunately there is esalon.com. I have adjusted my color with great results on occasion. I am one happy customer!

I have relied upon an expensive colorist for years and tried your product. As a complete novice to coloring my hair I cannot believe the incredible results from your products! I've used several home brands through the years, and while this is not the fastest, it is the best. The coverage is fantastic and natural and I always get so many complements afterwards. People tell me they can't believe I color my hair! I love eSalon!

I loved the color they suggested, and love how soft my hair is after I color! It also lasts a long time--about 3 months in my case. It is a better product than I have ever received at a salon, and its very easy to apply myself. I love this product!

I have been ordering Soft Black hair dye from Esalon for some time now and will never use anything else. I hate visiting the salon and box dye was ruining my hair so I read good reviews on Esalon and decided to give them a try. I was worried at first because the bottle they sent me was very small and I have a lot of thick long hair and had to use 2 boxes of dye from the store just to do my roots! But the amount they gave me covered my entire roots plus some left over. It's crazy! My hair is also healthy as if I visit the salon every time. I had one box that was delayed at Christmas time so they sent me another box at no extra price. Their customer service is amazing and I pay $29.95 for the hair dye & shipping. I used to pay atleast $20 on box dye so an extra $10 I don't mind paying when it doesn't damage my hair.

I've done this for almost a year now. I hated spending 50-100 dollars by going to the salon. The box stores.. well.. who knew what you get there and whether or not it would even last a month.. I feel like I'm getting the quality of a salon for the price of doing it yourself. I could not be happier.. I even get a reminder email before they ship to make sure I do not need any changes.. I am a very happy customer.

I have been using e-Salon custom color for about two years and have never been more satisfied with any hair product.

I have been using the hair color product for two years now and could not be any happier. I love that I can color my hair at my own convenience and that I am saving so much money verses having my stylist do for me :)

I have been with eSalon since October and once we got the color down (only took two adjustments), I am loving it! The cost is a fraction of what I paid for actual salon coloring, it is natural looking, easy to use and the shipments come timely. The kits come with everything I need for a professional color including stain pre-treatment and stain removal packets so the color does not stain your skin. Can't say enough about the ease of using this. The only thing I would like to see is a Root touch up kit. For those of us with short hair, you could get away with just a root touch up and do a full color every other month. I would highly recommend eSalon.

Best product I have found yet! Wash my hair everyday and this color does not fade out. If it wasn't for my gray hairline I could probably go 8 weeks between coloring. Love it!!

Once I had kids, finding the time to go to a salon for a single-process hair color was very difficult. I started to buy products in local drug stores. Nothing covered my stubborn grey hairs the way I was hoping,. ESalon's hair color is wonderful! It's easy, and a MUCH BETTER quality than anything in local stores! It's also a HUGE savings than going to a salon. I would recommend to anyone!!

I love this product, and the process that starts it. It was so easy to upload the images and order. You can customize the delivery time frames and change your color any time. I constantly get compliments on the olor, and people asking where I go. They're shocked when I say I do the color myself and it's custom mixed for me. Couldn't be happier.
