So far so good..! (been coloring without problems for 38 years, but then - 1 accidental lightening episode ..😣😕🧐🤓🤪.... ) I'm normally a very dark, ash brown, almost a gray black. My family has little gray even into our 70's, if we're healthy, and I'm 56 with just a few gray/white hairs around my ears and creeping over the top of my head. I like my dark hair and don't match gray very well... (hate getting old, too!), so ..
so - So - I’m sure this accident of my red roots with long, blackish-red ends, as the base that I’m testing eSalon on, will be a bear to grow out, 🐻🐻🐻
- but - after just doing the temporary, eSalon treatment tonight, I like what I’m seeing... I ordered Darkest Brown, Matte-Ash to obliterate the red, and gradually grow out and eliminate the blacker long hair with lightening. Basically, a double-down treatment of naturally bringing my roots back to normal, letting my hair just grow out the black, and also lightening up, toward the roots, to get black out, as well.
The color is really still a bit too red for me, but I am happy that my roots are closer to an ash brown. Because I wear long layers, and curl my hair, I don't ever get "hmm.. what's with the color, Tanya..?" from anyone.. Just "man you have the most gorgeous hair!! I know you by your hair! I could tell it was you by your hair!"......
If I mess anything up, I just let it grow out and use a wash-out color to blend the mistakes. But this one is the biggest one I've ever done... LOL.. whew..
I missed a few grays right by my ears, which is not like me because I go there, and my forehead, firstly, and I know I saturated them very well... I'm thinking what I really should have done is kept the color on for at least 30 minutes, knowing my hair, but I followed the instructions of 10 on roots, and 5 on ends. I did a little longer, but not 30 minutes. Next time, i will go the full 30.

What I like about this is there is someone who follows up and if you want to change your color it's easy. They also contact you before getting your color ready to make sure you are ready for a new set. Plus my color consultant really cares about my color outcome, by sharing her concerns. I love my new color it's a little bit lighter and that's ok. Thank you!

I didn't think I could colour my own hair, but with the instructions and a bit of help from my boyfriend I managed to make it perfect. I love my colour and my hair is so soft and shiny! Definitely great product for the price :)

I am always a little cautious about using DIY hair colors - mostly because with my natural ash (and now grays) turn out brassy with just about EVERY color, but this really is great. The color is a natural brown with just a hint of gold, the instructions were easy to follow, and my hair itself feels super soft. I would recommend this

I have colored my hair for so many years I can't even say how many. I have tried the store bought kits, then a beauty supply store. They were ok but never totally covered my grey and i had more grey showing in just a couple weeks. The first time I tried this I loved how it went on, it covered ALL my grey and after 4 weeks I barely saw grey at my roots. I had my color adjusted and it is perfect!!! I am recommending eSalon to anyone that I know who colors their hair. Love it!! Oh and did I mention how nice it is to have the kit (which includes everything you need) delivered to my door.

I was really pleased with the colour thanks. It looks really natural and my hair is in great condition after applying it. The tools to apply the dye were great too, although I'd recommend getting someone else to help so that you can make sure you've got full coverage.

I just used it last night and the products seem very high quality. The smell is so much better than what I've been using. And I do love the color. It's hard to say today how it holds up, but the coverage is great, even those pesky areas were colored, like the sideburn area, that sometimes do not take the color! Very happy! Will be using again!

My stylist is the best hands down! She understands color even over the phone! I called her with my “hot root” issue and she customized a whole new color set for me and shipped it out right away for my super important business week & I was thrilled; no more hot roots!
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the first time I used it my roots were so super dry! Boar hair is softer. Lol Maybe I did something wrong and I’m in the process of finding out but other than that I’m in love! I’ll never go back to boxed color and I’ve been using eSalon for over 3 years now!

I am very pleased and satisfied with the custom color results that my colorist has made for me. I recently wanted to change my color and explained what color I wanted more of and I was very happy with the results they came up with! They knew exactly what I was looking for.

I was very impressed with this! I love how personal the kit was and the instructions were thorough and easy to follow. To be honest, the color that my hair turned wasn’t originally what I had in mind when ordering... but I was blown away by how beautiful and even the color turned out to be.

This is by far the best hair dye Ive ever used. My hair looks like I went to a salon and got highlights and lowlights. Would for sure 100% recommend it.

I've always colored my hair at home but it has never looked this perfect. I love the detailed instructions...I always fear how my growth (roots) are going to look but this product took my worries away. I usually dye my own hair at home but I've never gotten such amazing color results before. Esalon takes hair coloring to a whole new level! It's salon quality dye creates fabulous results that even I can do. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I want it just a little bit of a lighter shade... which I just chose wrong. Esalon's salon quality dye covered up my roots and matched them to the rest of my hair! I've never found a home dye kit that made all my hair one solid color. I love the results, now I just want to go lighter and try the highlighting kit as well. Thanks esalon, you made my hair vibrantly beautiful. I love it!

The color was easy to apply and not time consuming or very messy. My hair felt like sludge when I first washed it, so I washed twice. I also pulled a lot of hair out but that could be overdue shedding. I will keep an eye on that.
My hair is shiny and pretty, but I will request 2 shades or so lighter (more golden undertones) next time I do an all over kit!

First time from a "Box" I got the color I wanted!!!

My hair is glorious!!! They were generous with the amounts of developer and color so I had no problem covering all of my hair, which is almost all the way down my back about five inches past my bra band. As a matter of fact, I had leftover color!
The process was a pain but only because of how long my hair is and how pathetic the hair clips I used were. Everything else was amazing! I loved that my name was on almost everything (I'm one of those people who never finds their name on keychains at souvenir shops). I loved the stain guard and the stain remover!
The color is exactly what I wanted and I do mean exactly! Not too light, not too dark, perfect! It's shiny, soft, warm, and perfectly suited to my complexion! Also, I have sensitive skin and had not a single issue with any of the products. The only annoying part was I had to get out of the shower to cut open the shampoo and conditioner packets with scissors because I couldn't open them.
The emails were friendly and timely without being annoying. I will be a repeat customer.

I was more than pleased with my custom color set! When it arrived, I immediately opened the box and was impressed with how much was included. The instructions and products were easy to use and my color is beautiful! As a natural redhead who is now heavily gray, it is difficult to get just the right balance with out too much orange or too much purple. My color is now very close to my natural color. I'm excited to get my next color set. I love that I can make changes to my color before each subsequent box.
