Ok but not at all the colour I wantedI didn't get any of the problems I was worried about after reading reviews online. (Sticky hair, hair loss...) So that was a plus as I was very worried. My issue is that the colour is nothing like the one I wanted. It's not bad but not what I wanted. The consultant called me during working hours so never got me and then decided to send the colour anyway without double checking with me. I think you should not send until you have managed to contact the customer via hone or email. Now if I want the correct colour I have to pay again when it is not my fault if the colour is not what I wanted. Not really impressedI was not really impressed with this product . It's just not for me ! It did not lift at all . However it may would deposit color on my hair that is already blonde , but I do not want to darken all my blonde . So I'm not happy with it . Not Enough ColorMy hair is thick and past my shoulders, not insanely thick but I did mention a concern about this to the colorist as we planned. Unless I use two boxes of color from the drugstore I run out resulting in a disaster. I was reassured by my colorist that there would be more than enough color. There wasn’t. I give the product 3 stars because the portion for my roots worked nicely and I loved the color. But my ends were barely saturated and therefore barely got color. I got comments from friends that the grow out/roots were less visible but that the bottom portion (essentially my entire ponytail) looked about the same. Great shine, not great colour match, messyMy hair is amazingly shiny, however my mid brown copper request has resulted in a very dark brown with no red/orange even in the sunlight :( Other point to note is how watery the mixture you put on your hair is, very messy. Help Greys day 10This color does not last! I use Lanza color safe shampoo from the salon. This is not affordable. This color last as long as box color I buy at Walgreens but twice as much. I wrote last time that I needed heavy grey coverage. You said you were going to create a formula that lasts. And it does not. Is your color only for younger people with no gray hair? Just not a fanI’ve tried it a couple of tries and I just don’t like any of the colors made. It is also a very long tedious process that I don’t look forward to. I have natural dark brown hair and when I dye it a dark brown it comes out red. Every time, even after adjustments. It just isn’t what is expected. Great at first....Great at first....did all over color LOVED it. But my problems are my grays they are strong and many! I normally get at least 5 weeks if not 6 from the salon. 4 weeks from the 'store' color . this only lasted 3 1\2 weeks :( so I think budget wise,,,its back to the store for me. ******UPDATE 2/21/18 I wrote to the company about my issue with the grays.....They suggested I dye my hair every TWO WEEKS!!!!!! WHAT!?? Good idea in theory, but not as good as it could beThere is a difference between salon formulations and non salon. This is NOT as good or healthy for hair as salon formulations, unfortunately, although I suppose it is better than box color (the lowest kind.) If only it were closer to salon it would be ideal -- I mean a WONDERFUL idea -- and I am looking still to find this. The service however is top notch, as is everything else about this service. If they can only get closer to what I get at the salon (i.e. grey coverage, better quality color rather than too opaque) I would love this. Touch up of Custom Hair colorI like the hair color; however even applying a mask the night before and following the color directions exactly, I am not happy with the coverage of gray at the hairline. I hv never had color do this!I followed directions to the letter. When time was up and I rinsed my hair, it felt like my hair was coated in PLASTIC! It took 4 shampoos with a salon grade color safe shampoo to remove whatever it was. The substance was difficult to clean from the colorist tools too. For med ash brown my hair looked dark brown. Problem is it faded at the roots. I am not a happy customer. At 1st I thought maybe user error but the 2nd time I had my daughter who colors her hair apply it. It was not user error. Buyer BewareI just received my first kit and after coloring and following the directions to a T I proceeded to jump in the shower. I wet my fingers and massaged my hair just like the instructions said and as soon as I started to rinse I noticed a really gummy, waxey build-up that wouldn't rinse out. I washed with your shampoo and conditioner and it wasn't even touching the build up. It was like I washed with Crisco. Thankfully I was able to get it out with my Wen after 6 washes but it was awful. I was terrified I was going to lose hair or damage it. Thankfully it is ok. The color isn't very vibrant and 3 days later my gray is already showing through. I have been coloring my gray myself for 5+ years and have never had an issue like this. I would not recommend this product to anyone and the 1 star is only because you can't leave zero. FairThe color was closer to my natural brunette. I appreciate the change you made taking out the more brassy tones so it didn’t come out with a reddish tint....but, it didn’t cover my grey at all! Greasy hair and no differenceMakes hair extremely greasy. Colour is no different only the red has gone lighter. My advice after 20 years of Home dyes go to the supermarket and get true results. Hard to cover grey.I received a complimentary color kit after my review of my 1st kit. (which was very nice and unexpected) because the 1st color kit did not do a good job of coloring the grey around my temples. Tired the 2nd kit same problem. I didn't do the dye job myself my retired friend who was a hairdresser did it so I know it was done correctly. Had the dye covered my extremely hard to cover greys it would have been perfect color job. I tried eSalon hoping to find a color that would work on my stubborn greys. Did not lastI was very disappointed with your product. I followed directions exactly and in less than 2 weeks, the gray was coming through. I can buy a root booster product at the drugstore for way less that will give me the same results I got from your product. Also, the amount of product sent for short hair is a total waste. Fading FastI am disappointed with how short a time the hair color lasted. It's been less than two weeks since I colored my hair using your product and my roots are fading fast where I colored it. I was using Salon Care which I purchased at Sally's Beauty and it lasted 6 or more weeks. It actually had to grow out to see the gray. With your product, it's fading fast and will have to be touched up before my hair even has a chance to grow. It's alrightDirections were clear which is always good. There isnt anything special about the color. It's not like I had alot of options since my hair is so dark on its own. Not right for meIt took forever to rinse out.. had a product build up on my scalp and hair that i could literally scrape off with my nails.. and am really disappointed that there doesnt seem to be even tge slightest hint of blue to the colour... left me having to buy another home dye to ensure my hair matched again with my extentions.. (*note i didnt use the dye on my extentions) hair felt very claggy upon drying it... Not suitable for everyone i guess as some reviews are great. Not crazy about it...I was very much looking forward to receiving my colour. When i did I was over the moon. Shipping was super fast and easy. However I found that the colour did not lift into my ends very well. My roots looked lovely. The exact colour I wanted. I was surprised as I dont have much prior colour in my hair and I haven’t dyed it in over a year and a half. I was just expecting a bit more. Perhaps I didn’t follow the instructions correctly? Color still wrongI wasn't happy with the original color and talked with a representative and she made adjustment and then I tried that one. While the 2nd did take away the very dark brown, the red tones still came out orange red rather than a violet red. Good product. Gentle on your hair.I used this product for like a year, I believe. At first it was really nice. I received compliments on my hair color... it looked alive and full of natural looking shades. But after using it for a year or so, my hair started looking dull and lifeless. My touch ups, that used to be once a month or even every 5 to 6 weeks, my hair started demanding them every 3 weeks. Sometimes a little sooner than that! In the end, It was as much a monetary reason, as a dissatisfaction with the product, what made me discontinue that especific product of all the others I love from eSalon! In the end, I didn’t get the shades I’ve got at the beginning, nor the healthy natural looking color. It still is a good product. Left my hair greasy and brittleOrdered custom colour red mahogany... it went on very red but the colour after rinsing is just dark brown no red. Color is just ok, my fault when orderingThe formula is thick and kind of oily so it stayed in my hair and felt really greasy until I used vinegar to get it completely washed out of my hair the next day. not long grey coverage no enough conditionerI have a lot of hair and the packages are too small and for the money I pay the grey coverage should at least last for 8 weeks but it does not. They won't listen to my requestI have have finally given up on esalon. I have requested time and time again for ash hair color because I want NO GOLD OR RED in my hair. Even when they did add the ash, they also added gold. When I complained about the red and gold they told me to buy a product called tinted love soft red neutralizer that they sell to gloss over the red and gold...didn't work. Not very happy with the productThe color is a little darker than I expected, although it was nice. The dye itself leaves a film on my hair that does not wash out after using it. (Even after using the shampoo provided) the film it leaves on does not wash out until about three or four washes using my own shampoo. My hair felt dirty. Also, by that time the color fades. Nope.I’ve colored my hair for quite awhile so this isn’t like my first time doing this. My roots are almost black and there is a distinct line in my hair where you can see the 2 separate applications of (the roots and the ends) colors. Way too darkI feel that the process of 'selecting your desired shade' offers too few options for red-brown shades. I added images and a note mentioning that I keep my hair on the (much) redder end of that spectrum. hHAVE YOU GOT AWILE TO DO YOUR COLORING ON YOUR HAIR??ALL THE IMPORTANT ITEMS WERE ENCLOSED WITH THIS KIT....BUT TRYING TO PART YOUR HAIR , THEN COLOR IT WERE DIFFICULT WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS A PROBLEM CO-ORDINATING THEIR HANDS, PRODUCT, ETC. AND DO A GOOD AND THOROUGH JOB OF IT... IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU ENCLOSED A COMB TYPE DEVICE ON THE END OF THE APPLICATOR THAT YOU USE TO PUT THE COLOR ON YOUR HAIR...WOULD BE SO NICE TO HAVE SOMETHING ON THAT ORDER....IT TOOK ME SO MUCH LONGER THAN IT DID THE COLORING I USED BEFORE THIS... TOOK ME A LONG TIME BEFORE I GOT TO SET THE CLOCK TO THE RIGHT TIMING...THE COLOR ACTUALLY DID COME OUT OKAY AND LOOKS AND FEELS GOOD AFTER SETTING WITH HOT ROLLER CURLING IRON... TIME WAS GREAT IN GETTING IT TO ME, AND THE PACKAGING WAS FANTASTIC...HAD TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS A COUPLE TIMES TO GET EVERYTHING RIGHT THIS FIRST TIME I DID IT BY MYSELF...KITS COMING SO EARLY THAT I HAVE ONE TO DO FOR NEXT TIME....SO DO NOT NEED THE NEXT HAIR COLOR TILL PAST THE SIX WEEK DEADLINE... Color no where closeI had chosen a copper dark blonde color. It looked much lighter than the color I got. I wouldn’t even call my hair a dark blob after using this custom color. It’s very slightly lighter with such a small touch of red that it’s hard to see. Not what I was going for at all. Paying for a professional in a hair salon is a better option. Request to change my choiceHello, I received the package in the mail and was preparing to try this for the first time. I was ready to go but upon mixing the colors the smell of (amonia? bleach?) was so strong that I decided not to do it. I recognize that this is probably my fault for choosing a color with some blond, but I would like to choose a different color of that is possible, one that does not contain bleach or amonia, even if it means a darker shade. Hate it!Omg! I’ve used this in the past and loved it. I recently went back and asked for the blonde I loved in the past and sent several photos. I just colored my hair and it’s BROWN! Dog ugly BROWN. I hate Brown in my hair. Oh great by next week all the gray will return to make me feel worse. Not HappyThis product does not live up to the hype. I purchased several weeks ago but just tried it today. I generally buy a good drugstore brand and although always happy with the results, esalon promises longer lasting results so thought I would try it. Application was fine although a bit runnier than I am used to. After first rinse out my hair felt like glue. It took 3 shampoos to remove the goop and shampoo provided with kit was only enough for 1 wash. And my hair just touches my shoulders. The conditioner seemed ok but my hair was much knottier than usual when combing through the wet hair. Drying was eternal and parts of my hair just would not dry at all. Took about an hour of natural hair drying to clear up wet patches. My hair looked bushier than usual with slight frizz. I am used to soft and silky after tinting. The stain remover provided was useless and did not remove an iota of the product on my neck. It remains to be seen how much longer the esalon brand lasts better than the drugstore versions. Loved the pack, hated the colourWhen the box arrived I was very excited. It comes with everything you need and more to colour your hair well. Shades of Orange Instead of GoldThe color I ordered was called "Warm brown". The instruction insert stated it was brown mixed with some gold tones. What I got was an auburn/orange. Roots are hot (brighter than the rest). I considered calling in sick to work this was so bad. I will say when I called the helpline they were great. They're rushing an ash brown to counteract the color. I really liked the packaging and the shine and feel of my hair.
