Alterna Caviar shampoo and conditioner are great! They make my hair so soft and shiny, This is probably the best shampoo/conditioner that I have used. I have thin, fine hair and it does not make my hair limp or oily, Can't recommend these products enough - the price is worth it!

This stuff is amazing & makes my fine hair feel healthier, silky & smooth. No flyaways with this. I've seen some complaints about the bottles being stiff & hard to squeeze. So far, not an issue for me. It's a little pricy so I don't use it every day. Save for those times when I really want a "great hair day." I use it in combination with the matching Conditioner.

I decided to give this shampoo and conditioner a try after a friend told me she started using anti-aging haircare and that it had done wonders. The shampoo lathers really nicely and the conditioner is awesome - a little goes a long way. It makes my hair really soft and smells good too! I almost didn't buy it after reading some reviews about it being hard to get out, but I'm wondering if people don't realize you have to twist the bottle top in order to squeeze out the product. It is a unique, kind of odd design, but the product comes right out after you unlock it. I'm guessing I'll have to keep it upside down once it gets low.

It has given my Hair a lift. Very moisturizing and body forming. My hair was getting some residue from the voluminous one. So I am glad I have another one to use once a week to give it more moisture. Brings out my variations in my hair color.

I love this shampoo/conditioner. I could tell the difference the first time I used it. My hair feels wonderful. The only negative is the smell. It is not pleasant at all. The good thing is the smell isn't noticeable after rinsing and drying. I will definitely continue to purchase.

I did not realize how dry my hair was until I used this shampoo . It looked so much healthier after one use. My hair is very fine and thin and gets weighed down easy but not with this shampoo. It’s not too heavy at all .

This shampoo smells amazing. I don't think that this shampoo is for me. I have been having trouble with my scalp itching and flaking. I use a scalp shampoo mixed with a moisturizing shampoo. I've noticed that my scalp has become even flakier, itchier, and more irritated since I started using the Alterna moisture shampoo. I am not sure if I am allergic to something in the shampoo or if it is the weather getting colder. I also use a scalp scrubber that you hold to remove build-up. I have thin stands, lots of shoulder-length curly hair. My ends are frizzy that is why I wanted to try this shampoo. I only air-dry my hair and use a heated hair straightener on my hair once in a while. I use very little hair product on my hair. Mainly because I have not had any luck finding anything that makes my hair look less frizzy and achieves the soft frizz-free curls that I would like to have. I only shampoo & condition my hair every 2-3 days.

"Shampoo fatigue"- when a really great product stops working as well after using it for a while. It happens with even the best products, and this one is no different. I loved it for the first couple weeks. It's so creamy, and the lather is down right luxurious. Sadly, after less than 3/4 of a bottle, my hair has gotten used to it and my results aren't nearly as good anymore. I'm going to switch up and try a new shampoo for a while, but I'll likely revisit this one in the future.

The conditioning is good but this and the conditioner bottle are identical. Hard to tell one from the other in the shower, Also, the bottle is opaque so you can’t see how much is left and print is a small font and hard to read. The bottle is quite stiff and hard to squeeze as well.

I couldn't figure out how to get the lid off the top and then I figured out that it never comes off. You just twist it and open it and shut it. You never take the lid off. The product is good. I like it

The scent is very clean and pleasant. I probably will not purchase again because of the price though as esalon brands work just as well and have equally pleasant scents.

The shampoo is a very nice replenishing product however with the arthritis in my hands and wrist it is very hard for me to use. A twist on/off top or easy squeeze tube would have been much easier to use.

Love this shampoo a little goes a long way. The only con is you should put explanation on how to open bottle was very confusing.

Love this product hair feels great. Has happened before where the bottle leaks in the bag. Alot of the shampoo was wasted spilled all over. Frustrating this has happened a few times lately.

This is the most amazing shampoo I ever used but when I paid the price tag of 38 just for shampoo then got a very small bottle of sucked because you are not really getting what you pay for. This is going to be one of those things that I buy like as a treat to myself every once in a while.

I have been using this shampoo and conditioner for several months and love it! It adds softness, shine, reduces frizz and thereby feels like it takes years off my 60-year-old, increasingly brittle hair. I also love the smell.
Unfortunately I can only agree with other reviewers regarding the packaging. Though attractive to look at, it is almost impossible to use. The plastic has no ‘give“ to it and trying to squeeze the product out is really difficult for “aging” wrists. I now resort to forcIng the lid off. Also a difficult process and rife with spillage opportunities!
This is way too expensive a product to waste and If didn’t love it’s benefits so much, the packaging issues would definitely stop me purchasing it again! I am very grateful to esalon hair color for helping me age that little bit more gracefully, I am less happy this product packaging is making me feel somewhat more aged! Hoping something will be done to correct this Issue and enable us to be able to use this product a little more easily and “gracefully“ too!

This is awesome shampoo and conditioner! I could tell a difference with the first use. But...it is just too expensive. $38 each for the shampoo and conditioner are out of my price range for daily use. It would be great if you offered the set at a discount price for those on a budget like me 🤓

I received a sample of this shampoo (and the conditioner) with my color kit. It was amazing how soft and luxurious my hair felt. It looked so shiny and healthy. My hair looked so healthy. But this stuff is so expensive! I only bought the shampoo, but I won't be able to order this product regularly--it is just over the top expensive IMO.

I have thin hair, normally on the oily side. With coloring and age noticed more breakage and dryness. I thought this would be good answer but very disappointed with results. The instant I started lathering my hair it felt dry and like my hair turned into straw. I tried again with same result - even more brittle and straw dry like feeling. I had some of my personalized shampoo left so used it- hair felt great decided to add small amount of Cavier shampoo and hair went from soft sudsy feeling to straw scrub! This is in my opinion a very overly priced and misleading product. I would gladly pay if it actually worked..sadly I now own a $35 dollar of overpriced, undersized and in my opinion worthless product. I've since gone back to the personalized shampoo (had much better result with it). I definitely don't recommend spending your money or time on the Alterna Caviar " moisturizing" shampoo.

I used this product years ago and used it for years. Then suddenly I couldn't find it anywhere and if I managed to find it the price was very expensive. I was surprised to see it show up here after all these years. I received a sample in my kit during the beginning of covid and loved it. I recently purchased the shampoo and conditioner thinking it was still a bit pricey for the small bottle but I don't wash as often to preserve my color I was very excited to receive it. However this is NOT the same as the original from years past nor the same as the sample I received. The shampoo dries my hair out so badly that as I'm rinsing it out it feels like straw. And the conditioner uggg I'll review that below. And it doesn't have a pleasant smell at all.

I have arthritis and I can't for the life of me get the product out of the bottle. I can't squeeze it hard enough. Hopefully the bottle will be reconfigured. I don't like the smell of it either. I do like how it makes my hair feel.

It made my hair super greasy at the roots and dry as hey on the tips. This is the most bizarre shampoo I have used. Immediately stopped using it after several days now my hair is completely out of balance.

I have used Alterna Shampoo for about three weeks now. I do not care for it. I do not like the feel of my hair while using it. My hair does not feel silky and clean. It does nothing to enhance my color or make styling better. I will keep trying other shampoo and conditioning products from ESalon until I find the right one for me.

I'm sorry but I didn't care for this shampoo. After using it my hair didn't look shiny like usual and was full of static. I also don't care for the bottle, it's hard to squeeze out. Definitely won't be repurchasing even if it's on sale.

I do not see a difference in the moisture replenishing texture of my hair after using this shampoo. I wanted to try it even though it is pricey. I dislike the smell of it and it even bothers my eyes. Live and learn.

I tried the samples of this shampoo and conditioner that came with my hair color. My hair felt smoother and it seemed that the products were not so heavy that they drooped my natural waves - as some products do. So I ordered both. Well, after using several times, my hair is no less dry or in any better condition. And despite thoroughly rinsing my hair, when it dried, I had lost my waves. So these products did not perform as I had hoped they would.
