AmazingI have been playing with my own color for a few years because salons just mess it up as badly as I had, so why pay them !! I was just trying to get to a medium ash brown. That's all... they said I need to get a full head of highlights for several sessions to be light enough etc. I decided to bleach wash my own hair. Why pay hundreds every session when I can't stand highlights. My hair hates bleach, so do it at once like ripping a bandaid! I used quality salon products, but had the orange hair I was expecting from bleaching darker hair. So I tried a few ash browns that did absolutely nothing and my curls were straight. They went straight from the bleach and looked awful. So I had forgotten about E Salon. I said why not... sent them the info told them what my desired outcome was... received the box and went at it. First, it is packaged amazingly and they have everything you need right there. I followed the directions to the letter. Jumped in the shower to rinse, and was AMAZED. The perfect color in one try?!?! Not possible. I have tried several colors.... the same color in fact by other brands. It was astonishing. They stir little cauldrons of magic hair color and Tammi just nailed it exactly. Gray coverage spotty around the faceAlmost perfect. I think I need to stop using the color block around my face. I dont like tinting my skin but sometimes grays get the color block and therefore maybe will not absorb the tint. That is my only concern. Color shade is good, other grey coverage is good. Just buy a box dyeThere is zero dimension to this color. It's all the same all over, so it looks way more unnatural. It also felt really gross in my hair and took forever to wash out. The coverage was great, it totally hid my purple streaks. However, I put in my notes that I wanted my color to have a purple tint, which it obviously does not have. You can't REALLY customize your color here, just pick one from the extremely short list of shades. Overall it looks fine, just boring and devoid of dimension. Color was wrong!The color that I received was supposed to be Medium Blonde (Natural Golden). I used as directed, and actually shortened the leave-in time by 5 minutes. 1st time was a successThis was the first time I have colored my own hair. I have had color and highlights in my hair for 20+ years. I am 58 and have a few grays. The instructions were easy to follow. The color was a perfect match. My close friends said my hair looked as if I went to a professional. My biggest fear was that this kit would dry out my hair.
