Formula more effective than other online hair color offerings.I requested a dark brunette with the strength to cover some light gray areas while trying to keep my color as close to my natural shade as possible. I used the product 3 times. The gray coverage was great but after the first coloring my hair was a brassier/warmer than I wanted. I gave the feedback to my colorist who attempted to correct in my 2nd order. I couldn't tell any difference in the color so I switched to Madison Reed to try their product. I was not impressed with their coverage, which unlike eSalon, did not cover my gray at all. My only complaint on eSalon was that I felt like there was a lot of heavy residue after washing out the color due to the gel formula. The 2nd time I did it, I followed the instructions exactly and the step of adding water to the remaining formula and applying and lathering through the hair before rinsing the color out made a big difference. Not perfect but much, much better. And considering the coverage I get with this product, worth the extra step. Now if I can just get my color right, I would be very happy with the product and service. I'm trying again and asking for the Iced Latte effect to remove all/more of the warmth. New to eSalon. First orderI love the color but had trouble washing it out. Hair still feels a little gummy in a couple places. I washed it three times and decided that was enough. Just not a fanI’ve tried it a couple of tries and I just don’t like any of the colors made. It is also a very long tedious process that I don’t look forward to. I have natural dark brown hair and when I dye it a dark brown it comes out red. Every time, even after adjustments. It just isn’t what is expected.
