eSalon Turned My Stylist's Frown Upside DownI am an African American with dreadlocks. I ordered my custom color in April, a month into sheltering in place. Although it was promoted as a do it yourself, I honestly was afraid to try it on my own at home. Fast forward to #GeorgeFloyd weekend. I canceled my auto plan because I had not used the product yet and wasn't sure I ever would. But I still had a problem; I had not got my hair done since March. So I was desperate. Fortunately, my stylist started doing hair at home. She reluctantly allowed me to bring my custom color and gave me every caution and hesitation she could think of. Guess what? To her surprise, she turned out loving the outcome. My color turned out nice! She had absolutely no complaints. My stylist liked (1) the ease of application, (2) the color blend to my hair, and most importantly, (3) no ammonia odors. She loved it! As for me, it covered ALL my stubborn gray, so I like it too! She told me to use this product always going forward, no flip flopping. So, I guess I got to follow her orders. However, I don't like the auto order just yet. If I get on a routine, I may possible sign up again in the future. But for now, I'm taking my time to get comfortable eSalon. My advise is when ordering, tell eSalon EVERYTHING about your hair so they can match you the best! Thanks Mindy!!! You did that!!! Blonde may be tough colorI just used my first kit. My hair color is a varied shade of blonde from light to light brown. The kit did not change the root color much, only making the white/grey roots white. Not great, not badI was so excited to try the color. The pros: the package area is in time, it had everything I needed, color, gloves, instructions. It was easy to use and didn’t smell like chemicals. The cons: my color turned out way lighter on my roots than my ends. I followed the instructions as it said. Despite the color blunder my hair felt soft and shiny. It’s been two weeks and it’s still soft. I contacted Esalon and they are sending me out a correction kit. Pleased with ResultToday was the day I tried my eSalon purchase for the first time. My natural colour is brown with minimal grey at the front and sides. My last visit to a salon was in January for root touch up and highlights. Due to the Covid-19 lockdown, I was starting get desperate, I had tried boxed dyes in the past but the colour was never quite right or consistent all over, so I was dubious about trying that again, but what choice did I have apart from wearing a hat!. Then I found the eSalon website. After completing the online questionnaire and deciding on the look I wanted, I placed my order with a photo of my hair. I am very pleased with the colour which seems multi-tonal with a nice colour depth and the grey and highlights are covered nicely. Instructions are easy to follow and I found the process easy enough. Color is not correctI ask the violet color in the mix, but after coloring my hair it does not have any tint of violet red. Actually, I think I will just try one more month and stop my subscription.
