This is the best color I have used. I recently tried l'oreal due to time constraints and it turned out horrible. Smelled way worse and stained horribly. Will never switch back again.

I love e salon and have been using it for many years hence the 5 star rating. Unfortunately though they have changed their formula and I don’t like it at all! 😞 The consistency is very thick and makes it extremely difficult to apply. I was even concerned to the point that whilst applying it, I thought I’d received the wrong order. Please don’t fix something that isn’t broke!

The color in my kit is darker than what I'd been given at the salon. However, I really like it. I will see how it fades over then next few weeks. Also, I really like the shampoo and conditioner in the kit. One thing - my kit only included one pair of gloves but the list showed 2 pairs to be included. It would be nice to have 2 pairs of gloves.

I love the color but it's definitely didn't cover my gray. This is my first time putting any products in my NATURAL HAIR. I will give it a try again hopeful it's will work this time. I have been natural for 15 years so maybe that's why I didn't know.

My original color was way too brassy and orange. I specifically explained I wanted a medium auburn color and even included pictures. Unfortunately, the formula they first created had a 20% copper portion and this formula was so intense my head looked like a flashing orange traffic light. Once I received the correct color, i was much happier. I have been receiving so many compliments on my hair color and how could my hair look so good during the COVID-19 quarantine? Everyone assumed I had it done at a salon. I will now only purchase through Esalon. My hair is in much better condition after then when using box pharmacy hair colors. I wish they would bring back their clear glaze. That product was amazing but it’s not on their menu anymore.

The colorist developed formula was exactly the shade I wanted. Although the roots still showed some grey. I think a time adjustment would correct the problem.

The color was easy to use - no harsh chemical smells or feels to the process. The color was a little redder than expected than honey colored but I really don’t mind. My concern is that the gray was not completely covered and I felt there was no conditioning element in the process even though I received a shampoo & conditioner. My 2 biggest issues were the frizzy condition of my hair and the gray.

I have been buying boxed hair color for years, and have never been satisfied with the results. The color on the box bears no resemblance to the color of your hair once you've applied the product. It's too dark or too light, too blonde or too red, and never, never perfect. Until eSalon, and now my hair is perfectly covered and perfectly colored. And I am pleased.

I loved everything about this kit however the color was a bit lighter making my roots lighter than the rest of my hair. I sent an email addressing this but haven't gotten a response about resolving this for next time.

Nice color! Easy to use. Color and all is good. Website, terrible! Not easy to use and can't see what color you are ordering when you check out. Can't tell if the new color you put in is what you are getting! When you pick your color it doesn't flow to the next thing.

Color is really good, after first try with not great root coverage eSalon peeps revised my forumula and color time and it worked. Feel like I may need some more conditioning though...have super healthy hair and it feels a little dry. Takes so little time...not that I need more time but definitely will still do after salons open!

My biggest fear was the color matching my current (minus 12 weeks of color during the pandemic). It was just the color I wanted and the instructions were good. One thing esalon can't manage is the one who puts it on. I'm 69 years old and have had my hair colored for 20+ years by a professional. So to stand in your own bathroom with mirrors was quite a challenge. Thanks to a Zoom session with my niece I finally was able to do it! It took me forever to do the gray roots thoroughly, so I might have had it on too long, as it was very dry (processed) and brittle when I went to rinse it out. The Caviar shampoo & conditioner were good too. My one criticism would be the shipping. I paid for the 2 day delivery, but it was 7 days from order that I received it. The USPS is having a difficult time during this virus outbreak. I should have saved the $$ and it would have been here at the same time. I'll be doing it again! And I would like my niece to have a "Free one" as she is the one who recommended it!

My hair is long and a whole bottle covered roots and length with extra left over. It smells exceptionally strong, but if you're in a well vented area that shouldn't be a big deal. My disappointment came when the color only last 3 weeks max. I ordered exactly a month ago. Took a week or so to ship, and my color and grays are back where they were before I colored.. I did order permanent dye so I feel it should've at least lasted another week or two, as I only wash my hair twice a week and rinse or use conditioner every other day. So I've had a Max of 6 washes and the color didn't keep.

I requested that my color be modified and the new color is perfect. The problem was that this order ( #8691980) did not come with the applicator brush and only had 1 pair of gloves. The application with the brush was very easy for me with my first order but this time, having to use the bottle was very difficult for me causing me to miss sections of my hair in the back. But this is not to take away from the color which was perfect. Thank you

I must say when first applied the colour looked fab ,however I asked for it to be formulated to cover grey for up to 6 weeks dispute after 3 weeks my hair looked like it had never been dyed.

Only 1 pair of gloves included which I found to be very tiny so used my own
Struggled to do the back of my head but will try harder next time

this hair color was better than the first . not light brassy red but it still picked up red tones just darker which looks much better .I would love to have brown chocolate hair color..maybe milk chocolate with dimension but not sure is that is possible.

I am used to colouring very often using shop bought products, 4 weeks and usually the Grey's are showing.... however, with this, 4 weeks later and no sign yet. I have delayed my next shipment so saving money already.

I loved the packaging, including the directions. They were very clear. I was happy with the root color. The ends color had a super strong odor and unfortunately left my ends very dry. It also left a thick, almost waxy coating on the mid shaft and ends.

My natural colour is brown but I bleached my hair and decided to go copper which I love. I've been using box dyes to top up the copper colour but then I saw this site. I really wanted a more browny copper which is what I asked for ..... but sadly my hair is now 2 tone .... a nice warm copper at the top and getting redder as it goes down towards the ends. Theres far to much red in my hair now and it doesn't look good.

The color received the first time I used this product was a little too dark. I contacted the colorist and it was no problem at all to lighten the formula just a bit. I have not received the new color formula yet, but look forward to receiving it shortly.

Found it very difficult to apply two totally separate colours, much harder than any home dye I had done before. However the colour is lovely and surprisingly even! It’s nice and glossy and even though it’s harder to do, I’ll be ordering again.

This was my first time ordering hair color online.
I am a senior, originally a brunette and have had my hair colored professionally for 30-plus years when I first started turning gray. Since that was not possible because of the COVID 19 crises, I asked my adult daughter if she would help me color my hair. She agreed even though she had no experience at this. I went to the drug store to buy hair color. After standing there for sometime feeling confused about which color would be better because of my need to cover a lot of white-gray hair and having no professional to answer questions, I gave up. Feeling frustrated and desperate to color my partially grown-out gray, I decided to give eSalon a try. I had been receiving
emails advertising the product. It looked good.
I was very skeptical to say the least, but had to do something. When ordering, I liked the detailed questions they asked and the request to send
3 recent head shots if available. I appreciated being assigned to a certain color technician and the follow-up communications. I even called at one point to ease my anxiety about covering the white-gray growth and to emphasize that I had been told by hairdressers in the past the gray was difficult to cover. Just having someone who knew something about color to talk with was comforting. The final product, which they tweeked a little based on my photos, was a amazing. My inexperienced at hair-coloring daughter applied the product. The instructions were clear, easy to follow and offered guidance every step of the way. All supplies and additional items were included in the kit. I only needed to add a cape or old towel to cover my clothes and a bowl to mix the color. It was an easy process. My hair came out great, better than I expected. I think it is the best color mix I have ever had. I am so pleased with the product. Just ordered my second kit and asked them not to change a thing because the color was perfect.

Just love this hair dye , I have very dry frizzy hair and having my hair dyed ( to cover grey ) makes it dryer and frizz more but with this hair dye it really doesn’t . I won’t be going back to a salon to get my hair coloured again , esalon is the way for me now .

The color is wonderful. However, I found it to really dry out my hair and the conditioner doesn't counteract this as much as I would like. Also, the hair color kit is nice and gave me an extra set of color for touchup. Only thing is I already used the gloves, etc.

I don't how you did it, but this is the first time I have found a perfect match to my hair color. I am a sandy, reddish dark blonde. Some people say my color is a dark honey with reddish gold natural highlights. Whatever is in the color pigments of my hair product, somehow, somebody got it completely right. I could not be more happy. The down side is that the silvery white at the top of my forehead do not cover. But, at 67, a little silver is not a bad thing. If I get lucky, I will inherit my father's beautiful white head of hair eventually.

I was nervous about this product since I have experienced way too many at home color disasters from store bought products. Pink hair that was supposed to be auburn. Uneven color. Ronald McDonald red that was supposed to be copper. The worst cases were the blonde disasters, One particular humiliating experience of color was so bad, a professional hair dresser laughed out loud when she cut my hair (oof!). Due to my ineptitude with DIY color, I have gone to a professional for years. Then, stay at home orders were put in place and it was time to try DIY color again. Yikes! I’m happy to report that my hair color turned out amazing! I love that the color didn’t drip and that it was relatively easy to apply—-even for one as inept as me. I have zero color on my ears, neck, scalp, carpet, walls, or sink. The color is only on my hair and it is the best at home color I have ever had/done! The only down side would be that the scent of the root application is very strong. Thankfully it is a short step. Overall, I'm super happy with my hair!

The box arrived opened at one end and the brush missing. Box needs to be taped in the future.
Otherwise, Color was good. Still did not cover gray near hairline as well as other areas but satisfied overall.

Love the color. The rinsing part when you fill the bottle with water and pour over the hair was very messy. I will use my kitchen sink and sprayer next time instead of the shower. Other than that, very pleased.

Love the color. But the gray coverage was poor. In two weeks I had to touch it back up. I can not afford to keep paying for this or ruin my hair touching it up every 2 weeks

After my initial experience, I sent a photo and had a follow-up conversation with a color specialist from eSalon, explaining that the color was too dark and flat. It appeared to be my darkest tone, but covering my whole head. I explained that I wanted it brighter and with more shades of blonde, copper, and auburn. She changed my formula and instructed me to use the lightening kit to add dimension. My husband said, "It's unbelievable...your hair looks just like it did when you were 22."

Riecht heftig, hat aber nicht wie Produkte vom Friseur gebrannt auf der Kopfhaut. Genügend Ansatzfarbe und Längenfarbe. Tolles Shampoo und Spülung. Gut riechende Schutzcreme. Den Remover zum entfernen habe ich nicht benötigt.

Like the fact that you can get a darker color to cover roots and a lighter color to refresh the rest of your hair. Makes for a better color match. Do think it is a bit pricey for root color and shipping at almost $30. If you also get the refresher color there is an additional charge. Yes cheaper than a salon but a lot to pay for a greater variation in color.

The girl who has done my haircut/color for years is nowhere to be found since covid. I had a haircut appointment yesterday that was cancelled due to riots. My color came today from esalon. With a sick dog and life - I didn’t open the package until late and didn’t plan to do it tonight. I read the instructions and decided to go forward- seemed too easy. Is was. I like the products that keep color off the skin a lot. They are great. I made a mistake in a couple of areas close to my face but that was my error. The grey coverage elsewhere was excellent. My hair is soft especially considering I haven’t had a haircut in months. This product did not turn my ends black like box products do. I’m planning to stay with this color going forward.

Slightly complicated at first. Soon got the hang of it,the colour for the ends makes it seem that way. On the whole very happy with how my hair came out,the colour is amazing also the products that came with it were nice on my hair.

My second order was shipped and damaged so badly UPS put it in a plastic bag with a note on it.I sent out a few emails about the situation and with in a week I received a email back telling me they would be sending me out a new order no questions asked.I had pictures of my package, because in the past company's didn't believe people so just incase.I couldn't return it the hair color had exploded all over the place it was a mess,but these things do happen.But I am so happy that Escalon responded and reactivated the way they did.So thank you this is what makes good companies. brown in some areas but my overall color is different shades of blond. Please advise as light brown now will
