Almost thereThe color was measured well and easy to mix and apply. It was a bit too light as it came with a 20 volume developer so it caused me to have “hot” roots. The color blend also had ash tones which caused my hair to pull smoky greenish hues. I sent a message to adjust the color. Not SatisfiedThe kit was very well set up I like the tools and all the details how ever the root color did not work and my roots are still brown instead of black like the color they are supposed to be dyed. Waste of £9My hair was already dark brown and the dye didn't change its colour. I had chosen a light auburn but the result was very disappointing, just dark brown with hardly any auburn in. Very DisappointedI was hoping to fall in love with this product especially after so many great reviews. I’m a natural redhead and my hair has lightened over the years with many strands of white hair. I was hoping to go back to my used to be natural red. First of all I have to say this is the messiest hair color to work with.Tears actually came to my eyes as I was applying which this doesn’t even happen with store bought hair color. I ended up with streaks of red in my hair instead of an all over red. The clean up was not the greatest. Eh could’ve taken original color more into accountWas supposed to even out my two tone color but it’s still pretty different in color. Dried out hairI color my hair fairly often. I do it all at home and have gotten pretty good about it. One of my bottles leaked upon shipment and customer service was great about shipping a replacement. However I am impatient and wanted to try it. One bottle should be more then enough I thought. I asked for dark brown to cover crayon red. It turned out almost ash black and so dry. I lost a ton of hair upon rinsing. Mind you, my hair has been thru so many colors I know about how much I lose. I lost more with this color then when I went platinum blond. And that was rough for my hair. The smell was horrible and one bottle was not enough for all my hair. I have used box color, and one box usually does it with some left over. Never have I experienced such an awful smelling color with the exception of bleach. So now I have mostly ash black dry as can be hair. It seems more damaged then before I aimed to go back to natural colors. My pink, platinum and crayon reds have produced healthier hair. It is sad that box dye would have been a better choice for me. I will be using the replacement bottle to fill in the parts of hair that went uncolored during the first attempt because the color "should" be an exact match. Hopefully it does not dry out anymore then I have experienced. Hopefully it'll fade close to my natural color and I can get it healthy again. WrongI asked for mulberry burgundy and ended up with chocolate brown. I’ve had red hair 25 years and now suddenly I have brown hair. Not happy. I’ve been using esalon since 2015. In the last year and a half (maybe a bit longer), the color formulas are not good. I asked for rich red and I get joker red with strawberry blond roots. Color was okay.The color was perfect for my ends and darkened my hair beautifully, but I feel like the color did not cover my roots well. It did a great job blending away the few greys I did have, which was wonderful, but I could still visibly see a color difference in the growth of roots from my past professional salon visit. I always like to have my color be rich and slightly darker than my natural color, and it definitely picked up on my ends, but did not properly lift on my roots. Love the final color Covered the roots well Blended well Easy to use Negatives... DID NOT cover the white hairs at the temple 2 of 4 of the gloves were torn and unusable. The scent of the shampoo and conditioner left an unpleasant chemical smell on my hair. If you have any advice to improve the white hair coverage, I would appreciate it. Ehhhh noI asked for a copper red color because I wanted to go back to my natural hair color. Nope first box it was half an amazing red half ash greenish blonde. Box to correct it all it’s brown. Spots of reddish hair but brown. Copper is what I asked for!! Seriously though I kept saying I wanted red hair but nope it’s brown. Really not sure if I’m going to keep this company because I’m not going to get what I from it when I can go to the store or even amazon and get closer to what I want than this. And considering when I was talking to someone through email they told me that hair dye doesn’t lift color I’m not sure I want to stick with them not knowing that is literally what hair dye does. Very brassyAfter 3 attempts and multiple promises from “stylists” I’m still left with brassy orange hair... I noted at the very first attempt that I DO NOT want any orange/brassy colors even after sending a picture of my natural hair color I was assured that my chosen color wouldn’t be brassy... Unfortunately that was not the case, so I ordered another and communicated with the so called stylist which recommended I purchase the light color set highlights as well, so I did and I still received super brassy color with bright highlights *sigh* upon requesting to cancel they offered me a free color and was assured again that if I chose a bit darker color I would eliminate the brassy color, so I did and I STILL HAVE BRASSY/ORANGE BLONDE HAIR! Not happy with hair colorI was and am not happy with color. I turned off my auto ship and my account. Great grey coverCovered grey very well... But it was color is too red! Lighter shade of strawberry needed my hair is blonde with red not red with blonde. Golden blonde is too pale not enough red... have had much difficulty getting correct color to match my hair. It is not pink. Not red. But blonde with red... often mistaken for red head in sunlight but definitely strawberry blonde... light. Maybe try again to match color. Just a shade lighter red than you sent this past time... Did not Like the color. When I submitted for correction, continues to get same.I only used the very first color set, no follow up as to whether or not I was satisfied with the color with confirmation before being billed and autoshipped proceeding deliveries. When I was able to log back in, I was hoping for a color correction as promised; I now have 3 boxes of color product I will never use because there was never an updated color sent as requested. Not the color shown in the sample photo.I love the idea of Esalon, but unfortunately the color of my hair now looks nothing like the sample photo. I chose the Natural Ash wanting to get rid of the brassiness. Now my whole head of hair is a brassy copper, not natural ash. I did buy the tint rinse and have used it. Medium brown came out really darkWas so excited to try this colour I was so careful to ensure to select the correct colour. My hair already was a medium brown with copper in it and I wanted an all over brown just. This colour came out almost black. Now I'm washing constantly trying to get it to fade with no luck so far. Dark Blonde- First OrderMy order shipped quickly and was easy to apply. I received the color that I ordered; however, the result was too dark. I ordered the dark blonde, but my results look more like the dark blonde ash. My hair no longer matches my complexion, and I like to look as natural as possible. I realize there exists an element of trial and error to coloring your own hair. However, before ordering, I did upload a photo with notes, hoping to get some guidance. If I were to reorder a different shade, I would want to consult with someone first. Quality is goneI loved your products when I started with you, but each thing you have changed over the years has been in the wrong direction. The shampoo is no good the condition is worse. I was willing to go with gloves that were terrible but the product change you made on the color is the last straw. The product would not come out of the bottle and I had to shake it out in my all white bathroom. It was so thick and the bottle was so poor that I could get it out. Yes I did cut the tip off. Not a successColor itself was okay, there was one color given to use on both roots and ends so the result seemed flat without the natural variation of lighter ends. Entire purpose of coloring hair was to cover grays, the were not covered at all and seem to stand out more against the flat coloring of surrounding hair. Order never deliveredI can’t comment on my color because it hasn’t arrived. It shipped on Dec 30 and is still in the US. Tracking shows it hasn’t moved in ten days. Once it arrives in Canada, Customs will add another ten days before it’s released. I understand shipping is delayed near the holidays, but this could take a month. My roots are already overdue. This order was free because my first order turned my hair brassy red. That’s nice, but doesn’t help me if I don’t have it. Can't tell a differenceI was pretty excited to get more of a violet tone to my hair, so I was extremely eager to try out the custom color for the violet tone (dark brown (intense pearl)). After following the process meticulously, I didn't notice a difference in color or tone whatsoever. I'm a little bummed. It looks exactly as my natural color that I started out with. I would have thought if nothing else it would have dyed my hair a little darker, but to no avail. For one year it was great, then for the last two orders not so muchIn the beginning it was great. A year later, two orders with problems and no offer to fix the issue. Too much competition not to go elsewhere. Sorry eSalon, but I had to go elsewhere, you basically pushed me out the door. Gray hair at templesI leave the color on temple area first and longer than the rest of my hair. My hair color is the correct one,however, I have distinct lighter areas around the temple. This does not blend. When I go for a pro color the gray is always covered and they do not even bother to leave the color on longer around the temples. Nicht die Farbe, die ich wollte...Ich hatte mir Mittelbraun Asch als Farbe bestellt, weil ich den Haselnuss-Stich eines "Haartönungs-Unfalls" wieder beheben wollte, der Ansatz war dunkelblond mit weißen Strähnchen nachgewachsen. Nach der (sehr intensiv riechenden) Färbung war dann leider der Ansatz haselnuss-stichig, dafür hatte der Rest einen schönen Aschton... mein Problem hatte sich also auf die 4 cm Ansatz verschoben. Horrible, fo not recommendDried my hair out. Made my hair feelike straw. Hair still felt like straw even after deep conditioning. Color didn't even last 10 days.
