I was surprised by how good the the color blended to my hair. The only drawback is my gray started poking through after only two weeks. Hopefully the next order will resolve that. Otherwise I told my hair stylist it would be a while before I needed her. LOL depending on how the next batch turns out I may save $80 every month.

I was apprehensive after receiving the box after seeing the colors on paper... after application the color was great! Loved it, maybe would like a bit more red in it next time. I did notice however the color faded fairly quickly

The color did not completely cover the gray and wasn't quite the color I wanted but this is a work in progress. I am a 1st time user so I will have to wait and see when adjustments are made by my colorist how my hair turns out before I can give it better rating.

Instructions were easy... I was definitely nervous using a new product... I has no reaction or stinging or anything negative.. The color has sheen... Maybe it was the shampoo and conditioner too... The instructions said there would be two pairs of gloves and there were only one pair.. The other negative is that they said to use these large clips to separate your hair.. They should include those clips for first time users.. Especially during the pandemic.. I cant go shopping... I used my toddler grandchildren's clips and had to throw them away after... All in all, it will be easier the next time.. THANK YOU.. p.s. you should have a customer service to write to also...

The set and the instructions were all very professionally done. I've been coloring my hair for a very long time and have used professional color my Swiss hairdresser gave me. Although a bit more gold than requested (I like and prefer ashy), the color is natural looking, but didn't accomplish what I wanted. I specifically indicated that I wanted to create 'lowlights' in my whitish-blonde hair. While difficult for a non-professional to accomplish, I've done this before. The customized instructions were for doing only the roots. That is the opposite of what I intended, because roots produce a grow-out phase and an ugly line. My hairdresser counseled against that. The color would have worked for only roots. Because the color looked so incredibly dark while processing, I may not have left it on long enough. There is very little contrast. I may not do this again. Should probably stick to professional coloring.

This is my second time using the product. I love the color but it's getting dark. It's time to do the highlights but I like the color. I have the highlight kit but afraid to use it since I don't have anybody to help me put them in. Wish there was a cap I could just put on my head, pull hair through and color that way like they used to do a long time ago. I'm still struggling with gray coverage at my temples. They just don't want to color. they are tinted but not colored. I was also missing a brush in this kit and had to put it on with my hands. Not big deal.

Happy with my hair color it matches perfectly to the the rest of my hair , but the gray coverage is not very good at all, I can still see all of my gray hair, the only disappointment

I really liked the color after I used the product. But I really wish it stayed that color a little longer. Dyed hair April 16 over 3 weeks ago. The color has faded to a white blonde again. Maybe I need to apply better. Used the brush method. May just part & work it all in like I used to with other products. They usually last at least 4or 5 weeks.

The reason I took away one star is because the gray started showing slightly about 3 or 4 days after I did the color with the esalon kit. Usually it doesn't start showing for a couple of weeks when I go to my regular hair colorist and then by week 3 I do them again. But it may be that the volume of peroxide they sent me wasn't strong enough. I wrote them today to ask about that. Otherwise, I love it. It's easy to do yourself. I never dreamed I could color my own roots!!!!

This is the second order I have made. The only reason I am giving it a four star instead of five, is that this time I did not receive the applicator brush and it was difficult to apply the color to the roots and then work it up the new growth without the brush. Other than that all was good.

I love the color that I used but regretfully have to say that I can no longer color my hair. I have lost a tremendous amount of hair both times I used your products. I will not be using them anymore.

The colorist modified my color and I liked it even better than my original color. My only complaint is that my grays came back slightly quicker than if I went to the salon. I'm ordering again!

So I wanted something that would colour my greys as the over counter products in the shops just wasn’t doing that. So I picked what I wanted, sent a photo and the colour got sent. Unfortunately the colour for the ends went all over the box. So I sent a picture of it and resent me another one. Customer service was great. My partner helped me to put the colour on my hair and I must say very happy with the results.

I think i was too’ scared’ so i only used hsf the color provided and took it off 5-7 minutes too early. So now only after a couple if weeks , my roots are starting to gray so moved the date to the 19th from the 26th If it wont damage my hair, i would like to get it the the 11th instead

I am very pleased with the overall color. I'm not sure that it will be ok for the next time. But we'll see.
I do think this feels very harsh and my hair has taken a lot of time to feel a little recovery from the damage.
I wish I could find a rinse that added a little color and then I would enjoy tinted gray hair. My complexion does not look good with my silvery (no color) hair so I am still coloring.

I love the color. The process is easy however, it is not covering all my gray by my part line.
I have tried to leave it on a bit longer, I have tried to make sure I get it saturated with the color.
It just seems to have a bit of trouble with my resistant gray.
Any ideas are appreciated.

ESalon worked well, although some hairs are still gray. I did recommend it to friends who are having issues with hair color due to in person salons being closed with the pandemic.

Noticed strong smell of peroxide. How many volume? Is it really 15%?
Hair around temple areas didn't take color well. I can still see grey hairs.
I have olive complexion - I wonder if a tint of red or gold will look better on this color.

I liked the product. It was so easy to use and fail proof. Everything was labeled and clear, however the color was a little orange. I ordered ash blonde but it came out an orange tint. It wsnt super noticable with myhair being really blonde I just wished it were a little more blonde rather than orange under tone. Overall it died my hair and was very soft afterwards. I will order again I will just make sure I order a lighter blonde.

I liked the process and the experience. But it turned out a little darker than planned. I actually sent my formula with a picture of my hair color, hoping that would help. Overall, in this time of social distancing, I was very happy to have an option to order color. I knew I didnt want store brand color. So even though it turned out a little dark, the process was easy, and my hair feels great.

I really like the personalised element of the products, and it’s nice to receive emails from the person making your colour for you. It’s reassuring to know that someone truly cares about getting things just right.
The only thing that I’d say is that it’s not easy to change the order type from an all over colour to a different colour product, such as a highlighting set, for instance. The site is, generally speaking, user friendly, but there are a few issues with finding the feature you want easily.
I also think the introductory cost is great, but the fact that it then doubles (as a minimum) from the next order onwards is a little bit difficult to justify. I’m still considering whether I’ll allow my next order to ship or whether I’ll skip/cancel.
The shampoo and conditioner that come with the set is amazing - I love how nice my hair feels and smells after using them!

I have been highlighting, coloring, bayalaging, you name it, to my hair for the past 30 years all in the attempts to turn my dirty blonde into a real blonde. This has always been done by someone else, typically in a salon, and by a family friend in my early 20's. Over the past several years I have not been able to achieve the same blonde as in my 30's. I still don't know the reason for this: change of colorists, changes in my hair, who knows. What I do know is that I've been a bit underwhelmed by the salon lately, and with Covid, I thought now was the perfect time to try it myself. What is the worst that can happen? Sure, I can turn my hair orange, but only my husband and kids see me right now! So I took the plunge. Wow. I am so happy. I really never had doubts about the quality of the product, but rather I had doubts about my own ability to execute. However, with all the instructions, how-to videos, etc, I made it happen! It was a 2 step-process for me: Last night I colored my roots with The Medium blond color customized for me. Overall it was a bit darker than I expected and wanted, but it really looked nice and very natural. Then this morning I added the Light Kit. I have dimension now! It looks just as good as when I go to the salon now. Possibly even better. I am ecstatic. It is still not the same blonde as I had in my 30's but considering I accomplished this all by myself at home and it looks great and natural, I could not be more pleased!

The product and directions were all great and easy to follow! And I loved that it didn’t make my head feel itchy like it always does even after going to the salon. The only negative thing is that it has faded. I dyed my hair 3 weeks ago and it has already faded. I’m thinking it probably should have been left on longer. Otherwise it seems to be a great product!

I have always gone to a salon to have color put on my "white" roots. I'm 70 years old and with the Corona Virus I had no choice but to dive in. After reading all the reviews on Facebook and the eSalon site, I ordered my color...I was hoping it was correct. Hard to match on a computer screen. I consulted my own hairdresser trying to get the correct color match but found she was very negative that I was considering a boxed color. She felt I would ruin my hair and the result could be not what I wanted. I'm in NY and have no idea when we'll be even somewhat back to normal or a salon will open. I had to do it. Powder and root spray were not my answer after 7 weeks. I usually go every 3-4 weeks for color. My hubby helped me with the back of my short hair. I have to say I was very pleased with the result. We did a good job with the help of eSalon and the ease of use of their product. They took me step-by-step and the video's helped. My only disappointment was that it didn't cover all the grays even with my knowing and advising eSalon that my hair is difficult to color as the gray doesn't want to absorb color. I'll consult with my eSalon colorist, Celine, before I reorder. Maybe she will have a suggestion for my next order. My hair didn't come out red or green so I feel we accomplished our first time to color very well.

The pros are; the color went on great, no lines or blotchy spots and had a nice shine after. The cons are; it left my light ash hair pretty brassy. They were very quick to help try to correct it ,but it still remains more brassy then I prefer.

I really liked the color I received from your product. It matched my color from my hair dresser. I had not colored my own hair for a very long time. The instructions were very good and I had no problem. However I am finding that the color is fading after three weeks. It might be my fault since I didn’t leave color on my ends long because I was afraid my hair would be too dark . I was wrong color was great and next time I will leave it on the 1-2 minutes. I was very pleased with this product!

Received my product today and although I loved the packaging I had a problem with the root colour, it turned out a mousey brown colour ( the combo was brown, red and violet like I said the root colour is no where near the colour I expected and required and I thought that may happen cause my roots are hard to cover, I want to send you a pic so you can see for yourself. If we could fix it somehow I would def buy this product again

I really was looking for a way to go from very dull highlights to a more natural brunette. Overall, I would say I'm very impressed! I had just enough to cover my very thick, long hair with 2 bottles- although I wish there would have been a bit more product. The only thing I don't understand is why the roots were sent with a lighter color than the ends?

The product is pretty amazing and really gives a beautiful final result on your hair. However I had developed a type of allergic reaction right after using this product. My scalp is red and itchy. I am sorry but I cannot order again.

This was my first try and my husband did the application. We had fun doing it!! The color was a great match, the instructions were excellent, and the initial results were amazing. I have noticed after the first week that the color is fading over the gray. Next time we’ll put it on a little heavier and see if it holds up better.

Great color match and relatively easy to do for a first time (I'm over 50!).I wish that it had covered my grays a little better, but I'm hoping that will improve as esalon continues to get to know my needs.

As soon as I ordered my color I regretted it. I was so nervous it wasn’t going to look right and I would end up spending hundreds of dollars to reverse it. BUT - wow...the color formulation was PERFECT for me. This is the color I always try to achieve in the salon but it never comes out exactly how I like it. I went from $185 plus tax for roots and gloss to $12 my first go.
I did receive the ends color as a promotional gift for my first order but did not choose to use it. I have had balayage done before and I prefer a semi permanent gloss. What was sent was permanent and I didn’t want to make it impossible to highlight again if I do choose to.
Covered all my greys!! This is day 2 and I have yet to wash my hair so I don’t know how long it will last but so far I love.
I am so pleased and will continue using.

Your team provided me with a customized formula that was very nice. As most are aware, my hairdresser is closed due to Covid 19 so I had to find another solution. I had heard of eSalon on various tv shows. My stlist uses a "cream" tube color because of my abundance of white/gray hair especially around the front and top of my head. The coverage was good the first week or 2 but seems to be fading which is understandable with a liquid color. I did allow it to develop 45 mins before bring through my ends. If there is any way you can give me a little more coverage, I appreciate it. Thank you for your wonderful service!

I was worried but I was impressed with the kit I bought and the instructions supplied. Only down side was I didn't realise the timer had a tiny on/off switch on the back, and it wasn't mentioned in the instructions. Tiny panic but I had my phone and used it. Then, on inspecting more calmly, I found it but nothing was in the instructions about that. However, in all other aspects of the instructions, it was spot on. I did feel my hair was a bit dryer than I would have expected when i'd finished drying it. However, in fairness, it desperately needs a cut now and thats not about to happen anytime soon!

the process was very easy in terms of color application, however, despite the fact that i kept the product in 50 min (to cover grays), my color came out with significant brassy undertone. i dont like that at all, so im wondering how to fix it or how to adjust the color when i order the product again?

The colour was easy to apply following the clearly set out instructions but overall the colour is perfect and had plenty of dye.
My roots did come out a little brassier than I wanted though and I found the chemical smell slightly too powerful so don’t forget to open windows!
Otherwise my hair is the colour I wanted and is even all over 🙂

I have long dark hair with enough gray that when my roots come in I look like I have strands of Christmas tinsel growing in. And I have been finding grays in my hair since I was 12. I’m in my late thirties and I just don’t want to embrace them any time soon. My history with my stylists have often left me disappointed. I’d either love my overall hair colour but the grays still shone through. Or else I would get the coverage but be left with a colour that I was not excited about. Not to mention the time and expense of going to a salon (I’m a mom now) had me booking appointments for special occasions and not just to allow myself to look and feel my best whenever I wanted.
