I've been using E Salon color for about 6 months now, and love it. It's gentle on my hair, the color is great. It covers gray upon application, but like many others, the gray turns a lighter color too soon. Although, it's a lighter blonde color, not gray. You should give it a try. You can always go back to your otc brand if you don't like. it Also, they will make another shade if you're not satisfied with the one you get, so you can experiment if need be.

My natural hair started going white (from dark brown) in my 20s. Now in my 50s, the roots are almost all white on the sides and top. There is still some dark in the back of my head but not much. I color my hair every two weeks. ESalon provides an easy solution. The hair color is very good (but I need to add Gray Magic) to make sure the roots are well covered. If I don't, the roots are paler than the rest (why the 4 stars). The color is very shiny and rich and the hair is very soft and manageable and much better than drug store or other over the counter color. I like that the package comes with the entire kit I need (gloves, stain guard, shampoo and conditioner, stain remover). I only wish I could order at shorter intervals than every two weeks. You can but not automatically. It is the best customized color you can get outside of a salon. (Maybe even at a salon). I recommend it to all my friends. I have been using it for over 4 years.

I have been coloring my hair at home for many years to cover white in my dark brown hair. I started with the regular box color, brands didn't matter, they all worked. I moved on to foam when they came out, I found them easier to use & less messy. Eventually both stopped covering my white. It would appear less than a week later & it wasn't outgrowth. I went to the salon twice, and although it worked, I couldn't afford to keep it up. A friend told me about this company & gave it a shot. It worked! It was easy to use & I love the kit that comes with it: 2 pairs of gloves, instead of 1, shampoo as well as conditioner, a prep lotion & a wipe to remove color afterwards. The color is perfect & the white doesn't show!

Apart from the fantastic result - exact colour/ result expected, I've not seen any damage to my hair. Previous hair colour resulted in damage. I tried various product including salon recommendations. I'm staying right here with esalon.

Someone said it's "idiot proof" to use this product, and she's right. I prefer a semi-permanent color so it doesn't look like I'm wearing a wig, and my silver hairs are now a lovely amber honey. No one knows that I use a color!

This is the best and most natural ginger hair colour I have ever bought. Even my newest stylist didn't realise my hair was dyed - albeit just to cover grey, not a different colour.

I recently opted to use a box from the store, rather than wait for my shipment, which reminded me about other brands always staining my skin and my shower, counter, etc. eSalon actually comes with a stain guard and stain remover, which I've never needed to use.... drugstore brands don't come with a stain remover and always stain my skin, and sometimes make marks on bathroom surfaces which need some elbow grease to come clean.
Also great to have a history of what exact color I've used in the past, if I want to go back to an old color, or even be sure I get the same color next time (since they automatically send the same thing unless I ask for a change, and keep history of changes).

My original goal was to get my hair back to its original color so I could eliminate lines as it grew out. That goal has been accomplished! I am now going to try and let my hair go gray. Esalon helped me get to this point without spending hundreds. I will admit I was kind of slow at applying the hair color and ended up leaving the dye on a little longer than I should have. I feel like my ends got damaged a bit. A little trim took care of that, though.

I love the made for you color! This product "talks the talk and walks the walk". Is so great to tweak your color until you get the perfect shade you wanted, plus is a quality product that preserves the integrity of your hair, so it remains and LOOKS healthy. I am a very hands on person, and used to buy different shades at the store to mix and get what I wanted. Problem is, it seldom looked "just right", plus the condition of my hair was dry and damaged. Die Farbe ist wirklich super schön geworden und war genau so wie ich es gerne haben wollte. Ein großes Kompliment an die Friseurin, die mir den Ton gemischt hat. Die Farbe hat auch sehr lange gehalten. Leider war in der Farbe Ammoniak drin. Davon habe ich starken Haarausfall bekommen. Meine Haare brauchten lange, bis sie sich erholt haben. Falls es möglich ist, die gleiche Farbe ohne Ammoniak herzustellen, würde ich sie sehr gerne noch mal kaufen (oder eine sanftere Version).

Im so pleased i decided to do a strand test. Following the directions sent in my personalised box, my hair strand has come out purple! Meant to be dark brown!! If thos hasnt put me off a box dye, than i dont know what will.

The packaging was eye catching and even fun to open. The instructions, which I followed to a T, were very clear and in easy-to-read print. The shampoo and conditioner had a pleasant smell. Everything was delightful until my hair dried, and I could see that the color was not the warm golden blond that I was hoping for and have obtained from other brands, but rather ash blond, or what we used to call "dishwater blond." I'm trying to find where in my online account to cancel. Not easy.

I am giving it one star only because of the actual hair color itself. My hair came out very light and red on top where my grey is This occurred after each application. I only did 2 months but after second round my hair was still light and red . I hated my color so much. They did honor the free hair coloring as promised if one isn’t satisfied! . I ordered auburn and it came out VERY red, no hint of brown or ginger, it was like a red from LIVE.
However the coverage is good and the product is nice to use, no nasty chemical smell and it washed out of my towel and tshirt right away without a trace.

My order cam in a personalized box, which was a delightful added touch, the packaging is of good quality and products are nicely placed inside the box. I liked the low odor of the different products. Once applied & processed the color came out very nice, not as dark as I would of liked it, but a nice color non the less. What i was not impressed with was the grey coverage, there is a noticeable color difference where my grey hairs are (much lighter), it does not look horrible, just looks like I have streaks lol

Zur Info, ich lasse meine Haare immer nur beim Friseur färben. Da meine Friseurin in Elternzeit ist, wollte ich mir in der Zeit meine Haare selbst färben. Seit meinem 13. Lebensjahr färbe ich meine Haare und davon lange auch selbst, somit bin ich da eigentlich recht fit drin.
Die 1. Farbe gefiel mir gut. Es folgte dann die 2. Flasche, angeblich gleiche Farbe. Es wurde aber einfach anstatt Braun mit Mahagoni zu Lila-Kirsch. Daher bat ich um Änderung - es folgte Lieferung 3, wieder viel zu lila. Also wieder um Änderung gebeten und schrieb es auch so rein - „Rotanteil rausnehmen“.
Was soll ich sagen, ich leuchte gerade rot und heule, weil es einfach schrecklich aussieht. Nun darf ich also zu einem fremden Friseur gehen, der das hoffentlich rettet und meinen Geldbeutel schmälert.
Ich bin sehr enttäuscht, weil es einfach nicht gelesen wird.
Die Farben werden im Ausland hergestellt und geschickt, Lieferzeit beträgt teilweise 2 Wochen. Es kommt also anstatt dem Termin (bei mir war es ein Abo im 8 Wochen Rhythmus), 2 Wochen später.
Was ich loben kann ist die Einfachheit der Anwendung. Und zudem empfehle ich immer den Stain Remover, der ist toll.
Sollte die Farbe auf eure Haut kommen - viel Spaß bei eurer neuen Hautfarbe - ich habe 3 Wochen gebraucht es los zu werden, trotz Peeling und jeglicher nicht hautfreundlichen Variante. Die Farbe zieht sofort ein - auch eure Keramik/Amatur sofort mit Putzmittel scheuern!!!!

I have already received a reformulated kit. I'm not sure if your colorist is angry for me about choosing that color but as she said and quote " As mentioned it's very difficult to deposit Violet tones, without you visiting a salon for a bleach and fashion tone service."
Presently, my hair has reddish violet roots and black ends part now. It's looks awkward coz the roots look lighter!! I've colored my hair twice in a week. I had known It would look this way, I should have stayed with the first one. At least its all black!!
But hey we tried.
I followed the instructions properly. If the ends looked lighter it would have been a more expected outcome for me since my previous color was lighter, but yeah, I tried.

Ich hatte meine Haare seit 2 Jahren nicht mehr gefärbt und wollte meinen, im Vergleich leicht dunkleren, Haaransatz den Längen angleichen.
Meine Naturhaarfarbe ist ein helles Mittelblond und ich hatte mich für 2 Nuancen heller entschieden.
Trotz Einhaltung der Beschreibung sah ich am Ende aus wie die Schwester von Pumukel!! Natürlich weiß ich, dass Blondieren/Aufhellen über gelb/orange geht, aber das ist mir in der Form noch nie passiert!!
Auch alle Versuche, mit Purpleshampoo oder Glossing nachzubessern, blieben erfolglos, sodass ich am Ende nur einen Friseurtermin vereinbaren konnte - natürlich erst im neuen Jahr 🙄
Meine Haare sind zudem strohig und kaputt…Quintessenz ist: OMA hat recht - wer billig kauft, kauft zweimal…ich hab zusätzlich mit meinen bis dato gesunden Haaren bezahlt!
Was Friseure können - können nur Friseure! Daran werde ich mich in Zukunft halten!

The product when I first started using it was amazing. I needed it to change at some point because it was getting to dark. When I asked for the color to lighten up a shade, the gray coverage stopped. The shade did lighten.

This hair coloring package comes with everything you need. The custom bottles with your name on them are adorable. I was hoping by color would be darker, and it didn’t cover my white hair well. I followed instructions word per word and it burned my scalp on the top of my head. That being said, if you’re not covering white hairs and want to try a new color this kid would be great.

Ich habe voller Erwartung diese Coloration wie in der Packungsbeilage beschrieben aufgetragen.
Das Ergebnis ist alles andere als zufriedenstellend.
Mein grauer Haaransatz ist nach wie vor grau teilweise ein wenig rötlich braun (was ich gar nicht mag).
Für den Preis auf gar kein Fall weiter empfehlenswert.

Die Farbe lässt sich leicht auftragen. Und sie richt auch angenehm, ob beim auftragen oder nach dem Färben. Das Shampoo und die Spülung sind sehr pflegend.
Ein Manko: meine grauen und dunkleren Haare wurden nicht heller, so das meine Haare genauso aussahen, wie vorher. Das Färben hat sich also nicht gelohnt.

I was sent an alternative colour that I didn't want but had the opportunity to have my original choice which arrived 1 day later. Just had a keratin treatment to smooth curls and ticked I'd had keratin but it's relaxed the treatment and some frizz has come back.

Beautiful color. Easy to use and instructions were great. The kit was so organized and well crafted. I didn’t quite make the 5 stars because I felt like it stripped some moisture out of my hair. The other reason is it didn’t cover my gray hairs, which was the entire reason I was coloring my hair.

My hair has been previously bleached and had a copper semi permanent color. Wanted to go more natural so decided a dark brown would be a nice change. Consulted with the color special via email several times about it. (Wanted to make sure because of my previously bleached hair) sent several photos as well. They say they customized a color especially for my needs to get desired results. NO not the case at all! 1st off My hair turned black with a greenish tint all over and my roots were almost 2 shades lighter. After 1st shampoo (3 days wearing a hat) a ton of color came out but it didn't fade gradually more like drastically into a dull greyish brown but in sunlight green tone and roots a completely different shade and tone. Awful. It's been 10 daysafter coloring my hair & 3 shampoos and nothing is going in my favor.
Was super excited cuz the reviews I read. Don't think the colorist knew what she was doing. Because I gave her detailed information on my wants and my hair type, ect.

I recently had knee sx & unable to drive to my regular stylist. I wanted to go lighter blonde for spring/summer & provided a picture of my medium to dark blond hair color. The way my heart felt was amazing. The Color itself matched quite well. Problem is after my first wash I saw patches of grays and I can't pull my hair up once again without them being visible. Never had that problem out of Garnier Nutrees.

The color was very good. First I tried the demi color dark blond to cover my platinum blond looked grate however the texture of my hair was not good after dying with the demi, the second time I used the demi it worked terrible did not cover my grays and my hair was very corse and dry no shine. eSolon where very helpful and sent me permanent color at no charge, I waited the full 4 weeks and applied it , The permanent color was not as harsh but still more drying then the store bought color permanent dye . Bottom line thier dye is to harsh for my hair. I only shampoo once a week and I take good care of my long hair. They were always helpful and responded to my questions,

I have always had good service and great colour. This time I'm not sure what happened but I wanted to go lighter in colour but only received one bottle of colour with the instructionsto fo roots.. Have tried sending messages but the answer is always - they will review for next time! Not what I wanted to hear. I want to use the colour I have but looks like I will have to use the high street this time! Maybe because this is a free one?

Today I decided to go to the pharmacy and purchase hair dye. My latest orders from esalons’ were not covering my grays lately. But I have to say that the other products like Schwarzkopf Professional BC Bonacure Hyaluronic Moisture Kick and Schwarzkopf Professional BC Bonacure Peptide Repair Rescue Sealed Ends were awesome.

Have used this hair colour three times now. I like the colour although it can look brassy, which I see I am advised to buy a top up colour to reduce - so much for individually personalised colouring! It is also rather light on after colour conditioner. On the first occasion I just used the one provided in the pack - not enough, I have to use more. Come on eSalon, step up to your own promises!

I applied only two days ago and I can see my grey roots already.it’s not long lasting at all. But quality is really good it did not scratch my scalp at all.
