I am so happy I decided to give eSalon a try. I have been coloring my hair at home for over a year now and can never find a color match from the store and if I did happen to find one sorta close the next time I went to buy they didn’t have the same one. Very frustrating.
With eSalon the color was SPOT ON the very first time. Now I know that each time I order the color will be the same. Very convenient and my hair never felt so alive and gorgeous and the Gray coverage is amazing. Thanks to the colorist at eSalon. I am a happy girl. 🙌

I have lots of experience dying my own hair with store box hair dyes, but, you get what you pay for. They always start out looking fine but always turn brassy and faded.
I saw an ad on Facebook for esalon and I thought I'd give it a try. It seemed like a good compromise between spending $100 at a salon or $10 at a store.
I chose the darkest brown color available. It did a great job covering my gray roots (I'm 47 and have thick streaks of gray in front. My hair is also extremely thick.). The color didn't fade between coloring even though I waited two months to order again.
The next shipment I requested a change to dark brown mahogany. It came out exactly as I expected it to...dark brown with a mahogany tint.
I am happy with this product and I will keep ordering my hair dye from esalon!

This was my first time coloring my hair at home in a very long time. I found the instructions very easy to follow. I'm grateful I bought the color tools kit because it definitely helped. I loved the packaging and how everything was beautifully package and felt tailored for me. I mostly feel like this was a positive experience, but there were some negatives. It definitely took me longer to color my hair at home than at the salon. I will assume this will get easier as I color more. I also didn't like that the chemical smell was extremely intense when I washed it out in the shower. It was so harsh that it was making my eyes burn and was hard to breath. I have had the color in for three weeks and I already see a lot of my grey coming through. Normally, my grey does not come through so fast. I also have found that my hair has become extremely dry. I will try another round of this product, but will probably go back to the salon to get it professionally done.

Really impressed with the eSalon service. As much as I love my hairdresser, I have found the cost of having to have roots done every 6 weeks has become too much. I'd used a semi-permanent shop-bought dye part way through lockdown and have always resisted doing a permanent at home colour myself as find my hair ends up with too much red in it and/or can go far too dark. After filling in the online questionnaire and selecting my colour, eSalon contacted me to say they thought the shade I had chosen might be too warm so had toned it down.
I did the colour last night and am really impressed. While I think it might still be slightly too warm, the result is the closest to my natural mid brunette that I have been in years (I went for a Medium Brown 20VOL with Pearl). The colour is really even throughout and all my greys (of which there were A LOT) have gone.
Only reason it's not a 5* review is the smell of the 2nd bottle. Oh my days!! It was such a strong ammonia smell when I mixed it. It made my eyes water. Thankfully this hasn't lasted & it's a lesson learnt to have the bathroom window wide open next time.

I have tried several different boxed brands and salon color and they never turn out just right. My hair always pulls a red shade, which makes coloring it blonde very difficult. I sent my colorist a picture of what I was hoping for and it was an exact match (red/auburn). My hair is healthy, shiny and beautiful. I won't use anything else!

I have been an eSalon customer for a few years. Prior to eSalon I would visit a beauty store, find my color and buy all the necessary other items to color my hair True, eSalon does cost more. (it comes with everything you need, plus mailed, no need to out and purchase.) The difference in the color from local beauty store vs. eSalon is eSalon has tailored the color specific for ME! Instead of a 6R, I have a multi-color combination specifically created for me.
When I get my hair styled I will hear multiple comments "how gorgeous my hair is." I smile when I hear customers say "I want the color she has :). "
Often when I am out shopping I will hear "love your hair color." I smile and say thank you. (Only I and my eSalon expert know that the color is supported by eSalon color.) The color looks natural. My hair shines. Looks full and healthy.
I appreciate the expert's on eSalon. My color can be deepen in the fall easily. Great Product!

I really like that the colors are "customized" in that you are not given a higher developer than you need. In times when it's hard to get to the salon, it's tempting to turn to box dyes, but I have always found those cause more damage than is really necessary. The kit does come with everything you need to color your hair at home, but I found the color (medium blonde) to be orangey. I asked for an adjustment, but was sent the same color with more neutralizer, and my hair still looks like it's been in a peat bog for 2,000 years. That said, this is still a better result than I usually had with permanent drugstore dye in times past, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for my next adjustment.

i am reviewing over a year after applying the first color so it may not be as thorough. i did use foil. the color that appeared after i rinsed was warm gold dk brown. i was just happy that my gray was covered. made a huge difference. i did not think i would like it as much as i did. the second box was a little different. a lighter mixture. i applied this color also wrapping each piece of hair in foil. i had so many foil pieces that i missed a few important spots. i did like this lighter color even more. I am looking forward to my next box.

I have been dying my hair using a shop bought box dye for about 15 years. My colour had become very uneven it was very dark at the ends and I could never get my roots to match. I bought esalon after seeing an advert on Instagram but didn’t expect much as my hair was almost black at the ends. How wrong was I? The results are subtle but amazing. The ends seem to have lightened and my roots now match the rest of my hair. Customer service is excellent too. I received an email back within a few hours. Would never go back to a box dye again.

The dimension of color achieved with only my first application on the roots only was astonishing. When I first saw the ad with all the tones in a full head of hair I thought it would take a year to achieve that with mine. Now I see that beginning already. It's so beautiful. Never again will I use an opaque, flat tone box color off the shelf!

When the kit arrived I was very pleased, the packaging was lovely, especially as it was personalised. I had never coloured my hair before as I had always gone to the salon, and I was nervous about doing it myself so it was a case of I’ll do it tomorrow!
I said this for about 2 weeks, well, today I took the bull by the horns and after reading the instructions cover to cover again, I went off to the bathroom. What can I say, delighted, look like my old self again. If you try this product, I would definitely send pictures of your hair colour as I feel this is what helped my personal colourist select the right colour for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Aileen does a fantastic job of putting together my hair color. Exactly as requested. I've colored my hair, both at home and in the salon. This color is comparable to my salon colors, but so much cheaper. The store bought color fries my hair, resulting in my hair looking unhealthy and inconsistent color results. This doesn't happen with eSalon. With Covid, it's a no brainer.

I was dubious about using this product and read many reviews (good and bad). I have dyed my hair at home (including using bleach) for 20 years. I'd say I'm a pretty good hand at it and have therefore only gone to a salon a few times, for colour, in my life. Don't get me wrong, I've done the mad dash drive of shame, wearing a woolly hat in summer, to the supermarket/chemist many a time!
My hair, before I used this product, had a brown box dye over dry and bleached hair. I was trying to go darker but it wasn't sticking all over. It looked a bit silly to be honest!
I am so very impressed with the hair colour and whole service. It arrived quickly, and clearly a lot of time and thought has gone into the packaging and branding.
I initially thought there wouldn't be enough product, as my hair is shoulder length but thick, but I even had some left over. When I buy in the shop I always get two - putting the price on par with what I've just paid - and just have enough.
It has turned out the exact colour I asked for!
I also had a different bottle of colour for the ends, which I thought was a nice touch, and showed that the colourist understood the current colour situation of my hair when I ordered.
My hair is now soft, shiny and a lovely colour. It definitely is better than shop bought and, if you follow the instructions (which are simple), I can't see how you could go wrong.

My biggest concern was I'd not have enough product to go through my hair. I have thick long hair and colorists never mix the right amount in a salon. This kit had plenty of product and the colour matches what I expected. I did hope for a slight change based on the advertising but can't complain due to the lovely rich colour recieved. Requesting an amendment was easy... can't wait for my next color to come to see how it turns out.

I'm someone who's worried about buying box dye because I don't want my hair to dry out and I'm too broke to spend 200 bucks at a salon every month. It took a few tries but my golden brown is amazing and I'm in love with it.

I'm really happy with my most recent color. I am also impressed that when I had some difficulties with my initial order the company made it right. My only critique is that I don't feel like the gray coverage is quite where I would like it to be. After carefully following all instructions and purchasing the coloring tools, I'm still experiencing some gray at my roots.

I believe this is my third kit from eSalon. I loved the color this time -- a mix of reds and gold amidst the brown. I got many compliments. The shampoo and conditioner may be my most favorite though. It smells divine! I did let the colorist know my grays are more resistant than I thought. I've had this problem before and had to add a gray additive to my color in the past. It's also pretty messy to use at the end. I decided to chance the shower and didn't have a skin reaction but had a time getting rid of the color in my standing shower. Otherwise, it's a great product and works similar to my Schwarzkopf Color Ultime.

It took me a few months of tweaking to get the color I wanted and to get the hang of applying the color in a way that colored my roots without getting it onto the rest of my hair strand (which would make my hair too dark). Focusing on my roots has been the key to having a result I am happy with.

I am so pleased with the color. With all the lock downs I waited and waited for the salon to reopen but they kept pushing the dates back. I was so grey I wouldn't leave the house. I colored my hair today and crossed my fingers. I have to say I look just like I left the salon but this time with money in my pocket. This will be the only way I color my hair from now on, that is, if the color lasts and doesn't fade. That's still to be determined. My daughter who's 12 said it looks great, just like the salon does it and the color was perfect. Cant wait to see how it holds up in the next few weeks before my next shipment. Thank you.

The customer service is top notch. With my last color application, my hair came little darker than I wanted. The colorist made some adjustments to my next order along with different application instructions. The tweaks made all the difference. Prior to COVID I only had my hair professionally colored. (Spending about $1500/year on hair services.) With COVID things changed, with ESalon I might not ever get my hair professionally colored again.

First off. I love the kit and the detailed instructions. Gray coverage could be a little bit better. There is plenty of product to cover your hair. I’m looking forward to coloring again because I asked my colorist to add more red to the color.

Only found this company when searching to buy my usual colour online was proving a problem. I won't be going back to shop bought colours.
This colour lasts its easy to adjust orders if u want to tweak your colour too.

I was hesitant about it but my hairstylist moved so I had to do something and my wife got me this as a trial substitute and I must say they really did a great job on the color and the application was very easy. Excellent customer service too, the colorist was there for any question.
The only thing I would recommend to the eSalon team is the shipping, this box went from El Segundo to Carson! to Los Angeles! To Culver City which is right there to El Segundo, Of course, it is perhaps a quarantine problem. Everything else was right on point!

Used their color chart to try to match my hair....was a little difficult, so many colors, so took my time. They have the entire color wheel. I like my color and it covers my gray roots.

After many years of salon color and highlights. This year I had at least 6 inches of gray showing due to the Pandemic. I was going to let it just grow out but I got bored. I had used Esalon for many years before getting highlights and loved it. So I went back and I went darker. It covered all my very stubborn grays and my years of highlights. And so easy to do as well.

I didn't like the color I ordered in Nov. of 2020. I told them exactly what I didn't like about the color, and they adjusted my color. I ordered the adjusted color and now I love it! This new color feels vibrant! I am so glad I gave ESalon a second try!

love it I'm so happy my hair is 1 solid color again as i had a full head of highlights and I'm now medium blonde all over wasn't happy with just the 1 bottle as i told my colorist that i needed two bottles as my hair maybe shoulder length but its very thick told her this she said 1 bottle was enough it wasn't i have a few pieces where my hair is still very light as i didn't have enough but its ok i adjusted my color for next time esalon did this for me they have made my medium blonde lighter and made it a golden medium blonde with 2 bottles 1 for my roots and 1 for my ends happy with everything

I loved the outcome of this set. It did take a while (and I used professional clips & style comb to separate the hair), but the end result was worth it. What made the difference was the second set of colour to refresh the ends of the hair, plus the conditioner.
Quick tip; the colourant is very strong and you may not get it thoroughly mixed within the bottle, giving off a chemical smell. I found mixing in a bowl and applying with a brush to be much better.

I have dirty/medium blonde hair and black with a mix of platinum eyebrows. I chose the copper blonde formula because it matched my mom’s natural carrot-top very bright copperyi at almost 60. The medium blonde works well with the copper to not make me look a little green/peaked with my light olive skin during the winter when I am ultra pale. Also the formula saturates and dyes all of my black eyebrow hairs when I tint my eyebrows. Don’t want black caterpillars with copper locks.
