This is a very nice at home hair color. I love the packaging , they have thought of everything, to make the color process seamless.

I sent in a picture of my hair color and added a picture of what I would like. My colorist picked the perfect shade the first time. I have never had to adjust it. No more surprises at the local salon. I get the same shade every time!

Unlike store colors, this one is the best one I have ever had. It penetrates deep into the gray hair and your grays don’t show up again the next day. I love esalon because if your not happy with the color they’ll work with you to find the right one.

This is a great color. Initially I thought it was fading fast but I think that was the lighting I was in and of course the initial always looks darker before first wash .I absolutely love the color.

I was nervous to try and actually waited a few weeks. The directions were easy to follow, I did leave it on for 5 minutes less than required. All gray was covered, the shampoo and conditioner were excellent. No brassiness, and it actually matched my original color exactly! This is my new color, thank you, thank you!
So....I colored my hair for a second time. Keep in mind, I'm only needing to color my hair every 8 weeks now! By this point, I am having a few grays showing (and I do have stubborn gray). The color lasted for several weeks, and did not begin to lose the shade until a week or two before it was time for me to color again. I'm absolutely amazed by the brilliance of the color. It exactly matches my natural shade! The shine is extraordinary and so soft; if anything my hair actually looks/feels healthier. I'm sure if I used the shampoo every day that comes in the kit my color would not fade in the end. I'm so happy I chose to try eSalon! I hope to never have to use "drug store" brands again!

this is my first time colouring my hair for about 15 years. needed to cover a lot of grey hair. cover for the grey is excellent only a few showing at the hairline, but that was more my fault than the product. great coverage on the rest of my hair. I have curly hair that does need a little more care and this product has not dried my hair at all. really good accessories - love the cape. overall - very impressed.

It took about three tries with my colorist to get it right, but so worth it. Been using same color for past year alternating with the light kit. I actually look forward to coloring...refreshing my color every 9 weeks! I use a neutral light brown on my roots. Blends well.

I had been reading and looking at the site an colors for a few weeks before I actually decided to order. My order came today and I was still iffy of using it bc I thought it would be like box color......well I decided now was the time if any to do it as my hair hadn’t been washed in a few days and it’s the best thing I’ve done in a long time! I am in LOVE with how it turned out, the way my hair feels after coloring is amazing and it was super easy!! If you have been wanting to try it but like me you have been hesitant to pull the trigger......DO IT!! It’s salon color but half the price and the COLOR is to DYE for!!!! 😉

I love my new color! So soft and refreshed! I was so mad when the drug store and major markets stopped selling my brand of haircolor, thought I would try esalon; I couldn't be more satisfied with the ease and color that I got! Will definatly be ordering again prior to my wedding in September

Takes all the hassel out of coloring one's own hair. Excellent quailty product, delivered right to my door, exactly when I need it. No shopping and hoping that what you want is in stock. My new formulation definitely delivered better color. It leaves the hair soft and shiny. No damage. My only concern is how long it will last. My last formula did not deliver lasting color so I have hopes the new one will. Time will tell!

Initially I was skeptical about ordering hair color online. I have about 10% course grey hair and 90% dark brown. The formula that was blended for me was perfect.!! The grey looks like subtle highlights, which is the results I wanted. My hair is in great condition because of the low peroxide and wonderful shampoo and conditioner. Lastly, the product does not have a strong lingering chemical smell. Thank you!!

I just fill in my roots because I get grey about every 2 weeks;-( it is so convenient to just put the color on while I cook dinner or make lunches... It fits my fast paced lifestyle and Is better than any professional single process color I have ever had! Edit: I wrote the previous review in 2016 . 2019 I love this product and company just as much!

I have enjoyed my eSalon color very much! I have been red for a number of years now, but I have come to the realization that it’s time for me to go back to blonde! As a young adult I was a light ash blonde. I know this will be a process but I have confidence this can be accomplished! Thanks for your help.

I happened to come across eSalon while browsing on my computer last week. I've been coloring my hair for the past 50 years and was curious about this site. I had my hair professionally colored last year and was not impressed - especially with the $80 price tag. So, when I saw this site I was very interested. Imagine a hair salon-quality service delivered right to my door! I ordered my first kit for $10 and it arrived on time and in good shape. I was very impressed with the personalization of the kit. I read a bunch of one-star reviews and quite a few 4-5 star reviews and had questions which were answered by eSalon stylists (Kaelin and Sarah). Their answers were contradictory (cream vs gel-based color formula) and it was confirmed to me that they are now selling a cream-based formula as their gel-based formula was not well-received due to reports of sticky residue in the hair after coloring (as a result of not following directions properly). In my kit, the directions told me to color my hair and then take the leftover product, mix it with water and then massage "vigorously" into my scalp for 2-3 minutes, rinse thoroughly, shampoo and then condition. The product I received was cream-based and not gel-based, and the directions provided with my kit were incorrect. I think the gel-based formula requires the additional step of vigorous massaging and shampooing, not the cream-based. So, I emailed both Sarah and Kaelin asking what I should do and, since it's July 4th today, decided to take the plunge and color my hair without my answer. I applied the color, waited 25 minutes, rinsed thoroughly with warm water and then conditioned. I tried mixing the leftover product with water (in the plastic bottle), applying to my scalp and rubbing it in but decided it was unnecessary & stopped massaging after about 20 seconds. The color is WONDERFUL and hair is soft. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
